Job description
A reputed private healthcare group in the UAE is seeking a highly experienced consultant general surgeon (UK/CCT) to provide expert surgical care across a wide spectrum of general surgical conditions. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing patients requiring elective and emergency surgical interventions while maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence, patient safety, and evidence-based practice.
The consultant will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding patient care and contribute to the continued growth and reputation of the organization's surgical services.
Requirements
Perform advanced laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgical procedures where clinically appropriate.
Manage disorders involving the gastrointestinal tract, abdominal wall, soft tissues, breast, endocrine system, and skin.
Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments and formulate individualized treatment plans.
Provide high-quality post-operative care and monitor patient recovery.
Respond promptly to surgical emergencies and trauma cases as required.
Interpret laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic findings to support clinical decision-making.
Collaborate closely with physicians, anesthetists, radiologists, intensivists, and allied healthcare professionals.
Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, surgical risks, and expected outcomes.
Maintain accurate electronic medical records in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical governance, morbidity and mortality reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
Supervise and mentor junior doctors and other clinical staff where applicable.
