Requirements
The Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for evaluating maintenance requests, setting priorities, and processing work assignments. Key responsibilities include monitoring turnaround times, creating tracking sheets, performing routine inspections, and managing a network of external vendors and contractors. The role also involves ensuring compliance with permits, licenses, and safety standards, managing the maintenance budget, and coordinating preventative maintenance programs. Coaching Store Managers on basic maintenance practices and maintaining inventory records are also part of the duties.
Description
Evaluate maintenance requests, set priorities, and process work assignments.Monitor turnaround time on all maintenance requests as per the agreed service levels.Create and maintain a master tracking sheet for each store to monitor all maintenance activities.Perform routine inspections of equipment, systems, and infrastructure to ensure operational integrity.Establish and maintain a reliable network of external vendors and suppliers to support maintenance needs cost-effectively and on time.Hire and manage contractors/subcontractors for specialized or extensive maintenance work.Ensure all permits, licenses, and regulatory requirements are secured and updated for maintenance activities.Enforce all maintenance-related policies, procedures, safety standards, and compliance frameworks.Define and communicate the expected level of quality and safety in all maintenance activities.Manage the department's maintenance budget in line with the Annual Operating Plan (AOP).Manage Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs) and monitor the maintenance budget to ensure cost-effective operations and compliance with allocated limits.Prepare quotations, request approvals, generate LPOs, and ensure adherence to procurement protocols.Ensure all vendor deliverables are completed to scope, budget, and timeline.Coordinate and implement Preventative Maintenance (PM) programs to ensure store safety and reduce reactive maintenance.Coach and guide Store Managers (SMs) on basic preventive maintenance practices.Maintain up-to-date inventory records of tools, spare parts, and accessories.
