We are seeking a dynamic and experienced part time musical theatre teacher to deliver engaging and inspiring musical theatre classes across our Cognita schools in Dubai. This exciting opportunity is suited to a passionate performing arts educator who can inspire students through singing, acting, and movement, while developing their confidence, creativity, communication, and performance skills.
The successful candidate will foster a love of musical theatre and support students in preparing for performances, showcases, and other enrichment opportunities within the wider Enrich ME Performing Arts programme.
Kindly note that this is a part-time role, and as such, visa sponsorship and medical insurance are not provided.
Key responsibilities
Plan, prepare and deliver engaging musical theatre lessons that combine singing, acting, and movement.
Develop students' performance skills, confidence, creativity, teamwork, and stage presence.
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and self-expression.
Prepare students for performances, showcases, productions, and school events where appropriate.
Teach age-appropriate vocal, acting, and movement techniques to support student development.
Encourage creativity, collaboration, and storytelling through performance-based activities.
Collaborate with performing arts colleagues and school staff as required.
Ensure safety standards are followed, undertaking risk assessments where necessary.
Maintain records of attendance, performance, and progress, providing quality feedback to parents and key stakeholders where appropriate.
About you
Essential
Relevant qualification in musical theatre, performing arts, drama, music, education, or a related discipline.
Excellent musical theatre teaching skills.
Strong singing, acting, and performance coaching abilities.
Experience teaching musical theatre in a school, academy, or performing arts setting.
Experience preparing students for performances and showcases.
Experience working with children and young people across a range of ages and abilities.
Ability to motivate, encourage, and engage students of varying ages and abilities.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Ability to plan and deliver creative and engaging lessons.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Good IT and administrative skills.
Desirable
Degree or professional training in musical theatre or performing arts.
Vocal coaching or drama teaching qualifications.
Experience directing productions, showcases, or performances.
Experience teaching within a school or enrichment programme.
Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
Full driving licence.
