Position OverviewThe Laundry Attendant is responsible for the proper handling, cleaning, and care of all household laundry including clothing, linens, towels, uniforms, and delicate fabrics. The role ensures that all laundry items are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and fabric care expected in a luxury private residence.The Laundry Attendant must demonstrate attention to detail, knowledge of fabric care, and the ability to maintain organization within the laundry area while ensuring all items are handled with discretion and care.Key ResponsibilitiesLaundry OperationsCollect, sort, and organize laundry items including clothing, bed linens, towels, and staff uniforms.Wash, dry, iron, fold, and store laundry items according to proper fabric care procedures.Separate garments based on fabric type, color, and washing requirements.Ensure delicate garments and luxury fabrics are handled with special care.Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation for all laundry items.Garment Care and Fabric HandlingFollow proper washing instructions for different fabrics including cotton, silk, wool, and delicate materials.Inspect garments for stains, damages, or special care instructions before washing.Apply appropriate stain removal techniques where necessary.Ensure clothing is pressed, folded, or hung properly to maintain quality and appearance.Coordinate with the Housekeeping Supervisor or House Manager for any special garment handling requirements.Linen and Household LaundryHandle washing, drying, ironing, and folding of household linens including bed sheets, pillowcases, blankets, and towels.Maintain proper linen rotation to ensure consistent quality and longevity of fabrics.Ensure all linens are neatly organized and stored in designated areas.Monitor linen condition and report any damaged items that require replacement.Laundry Area OrganizationMaintain a clean, organized, and hygienic laundry room at all times.Ensure laundry equipment such as washing machines, dryers, and ironing equipment are used properly and maintained in good condition.Report any malfunction or maintenance issue related to laundry equipment to the Housekeeping Supervisor or House Manager.Ensure proper storage of detergents, fabric conditioners, and laundry supplies.Inventory and SuppliesMonitor stock levels of laundry supplies including detergents, fabric softeners, stain removers, and related materials.Inform the Housekeeping Supervisor when supplies need to be replenished.Ensure safe handling and storage of cleaning chemicals and laundry products.Coordination with Housekeeping TeamCoordinate with the Housekeeping Supervisor and housekeeping team to ensure timely processing of laundry items.Ensure that clothing, linens, and uniforms are returned promptly to their designated areas.Support the housekeeping team with linen preparation when required.Confidentiality and Professional ConductMaintain strict confidentiality regarding the personal belongings of the Principal and family members.Handle all garments and personal items with respect, care, and discretion.Maintain professional behavior and respectful communication with other household staff members.Additional DutiesAssist with general housekeeping tasks when required to support smooth household operations.Support special household preparations such as guest arrivals or events requiring additional linen or garment care.Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor, House Manager, or authorized representative.
