The successful candidate will be responsible for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of infectious diseases and will provide expert consultation for complex cases while working closely with other clinical departments. Key responsibilities Conduct comprehensive consultations and clinical assessments for patients with suspected or confirmed infectious diseases. Diagnose and manage bacterial, viral, fungal, parasitic, and other infectious conditions. Manage both inpatient and outpatient infectious disease cases, including complex and chronic infections. Review and interpret microbiological, immunological, molecular, laboratory, and imaging investigations. Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings, diagnostic results, and current evidence-based guidelines. Prescribe and monitor appropriate antimicrobial, antiviral, antifungal, and antiparasitic therapies. Provide expert consultation to other physicians regarding complex infections and antimicrobial treatment. Monitor treatment response and identify and manage medication-related adverse effects and complications. Provide guidance on antimicrobial stewardship and appropriate use of antibiotics. Support infection prevention and control initiatives within the healthcare facility. Assist in the assessment and management of healthcare-associated infections and outbreaks. Provide counselling to patients and families regarding infection, treatment, prevention, and follow-up care. Collaborate with microbiologists, intensivists, surgeons, pediatricians, oncologists, and other specialists as required. Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and clinical documentation. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, quality improvement, infection-control programs, and continuing medical education. Keep up to date with developments in infectious disease diagnosis, treatment, antimicrobial resistance, and infection prevention. Requirements MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution. Recognized postgraduate qualification in Infectious Diseases/Infectious Disease Medicine or an equivalent recognized specialty qualification. Relevant post-specialization experience in infectious diseases. Strong clinical experience in diagnosing and managing complex infectious diseases. Good knowledge of antimicrobial therapy, antimicrobial resistance, infection prevention, and infectious disease diagnostics. Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
