Students, recent graduates, and junior filmmakers are welcome. Requires a strong visual eye and a love for shooting people and real-world stories. Must have a good understanding of framing, lighting, and visual composition, and be comfortable operating a mirrorless/DSLR camera. Familiarity with gimbals, wireless microphones, and basic lighting is a plus.
Description
The People is looking for a Cinematographer / Videographer Intern who can capture real people and real moments beautifully.You'll primarily shoot short-form content for Reels, including individual stories, interviews, vox pops and other on-ground formats across the UAE.You don't need years of professional experience. Junior filmmakers and students are welcome as we're looking for someone with a strong visual eye who wants to get better by shooting constantly.Responsibilities:Shoot vertical, short-form video content for Instagram Reels and other social platforms.Film individual human stories, interviews, vox pops and on-ground features.Work alongside our storyteller/interviewer to capture both the conversation and the world around it.Shoot strong portraits, B-roll, establishing shots and candid moments that make a story visually engaging.Handle basic camera for on-location shoots.Understand framing, composition, exposure and movement in fast-moving real-world environments.Help develop a recognizable visual language for The People | UAE.Organise and hand over footage efficiently to the post-production team.Occasionally contribute ideas on how a story can be told better visually.RequiremetnsLoves shooting people and real-world stories.Has a good understanding of framing, lighting and visual composition.Understands how shooting for vertical/social content differs from traditional video.Can operate a mirrorless/DSLR camera confidently; familiarity with gimbals, wireless microphones and basic lighting is a plus.Is comfortable shooting outdoors and across different locations in the UAE.Can work quickly without losing the authenticity of the moment.Has a strong willingness to learn and experiment.Students, recent graduates and junior cinematographers are welcome to apply.
