The SME provides expert knowledge across Trade Finance and Working Capital products, including Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees, Bills for Collection, and Trade Finance Loans. The primary responsibility is to support and guide the project and testing teams by ensuring that business requirements, test scenarios, and test cases accurately reflect real-life trade finance processes, banking regulations, and industry standards such as ICC and SWIFT guidelines. The SME acts as the main point of contact for all Trade Finance-related functional queries, helping teams understand product features, business rules, and system behaviour. The role also supports data mapping and process integration between the customer portal, Newgen/BPM workflow platform, and Temenos T24 core banking system, while assisting in defect analysis and resolution. Key responsibilities Serve as the Trade Finance SME for Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees, Collections, and Trade Loans. Provide domain guidance on business requirements, functional specifications, SWIFT standards, and ICC rules (UCP 600, URDG 758, ISP98, URC 522). Advise on trade finance processes, transaction lifecycles, business scenarios, exceptions, and regulatory requirements. Guide and review test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts to ensure complete functional and business coverage. Define testing standards, acceptance criteria, controls, validations, and end-to-end traceability across requirements and test artifacts. Provide expertise on data mapping and integration between digital channels, workflow systems (Newgen/BPM), and core banking systems (Temenos T24). Validate trade transaction data flows, SWIFT message mappings, party information, charges, limits, and collateral-related data. Support defect triage, root cause analysis, issue resolution, and business validation during SIT and UAT phases. Act as the key liaison between business, operations, technology, testing, and vendor teams. Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions, mentor testing teams, and promote best practices in Trade Finance testing and delivery. Requirements 10+ years in Trade Finance, with deep techno-functional expertise across LCs, Guarantees, Bills, and Trade Loans – gained in trade operations, trade product, or trade finance systems implementation. Proven experience acting as a Trade Finance Subject Matter Expert on digitalization, core banking, or trade system implementation/transformation programmes. Demonstrated experience guiding test teams on functional coverage, test case and test script design, and defect resolution – without necessarily performing the testing directly. Experience advising on functional data mapping between front-end/workflow systems and a core banking system (Temenos T24 exposure an advantage but not essential). Strong, current knowledge of ICC rules and SWIFT standards for trade finance (UCP 600, URDG 758, ISP98, URC 522). Experience collaborating across business, operations, technology, and vendor teams in Agile or hybrid delivery environments.
