Amana Healthcare is the Middle East's leading provider of specialized post-acute healthcare services including long-term care, post-acute rehabilitation, transitional care and home healthcare.ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Manager of Rehabilitation, the Occupational Therapist is expected to demonstrate clinical knowledge and understanding relevant to their practice area, aligning with their individual scope of practice. This role requires an awareness of their responsibilities within the patient's care plan, along with a solid understanding of anatomy and physiology, evidence-based practice, and Occupational Therapy services across the lifespan. The Occupational Therapist must also adhere to M42 and comply with DOH/DHA policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards.Occupational Therapy responsibilities will incorporate Inpatient and/or OPD clinic based requirements:Interprets referrals and conducts initial evaluations to identify and diagnose physiological, psychological, and cognitive issues.Develops, delivers, and modifies treatment plans tailored to the individual's physiological, cognitive, and psychological needs.Develop individualized treatment plans based on standardised and dynamic assessments related to:Fine and gross motor skillsVisual-motor integrationSensory processingSelf-care and school participationSelf-care and ADLsVisual-perceptual skillsFunctional participationMonitor progress and adjust intervention plans accordinglyRecommend and support use of assistive technology and adaptive equipmentEducate and collaborate with parents/caregivers and create customised home programs when required, Performs ongoing risk assessments and adheres to safety measures during therapy sessions.Implements strategies to promote client self-management and health education to enhance overall well-being.Completes administrative tasks related to patient care, including documentation, billing, and insurance submissions, in compliance with policies.Participates in clinical handovers, inventory maintenance, marketing activities, and defines patient-centered goals, ensuring informed consent and understanding of treatment plans.Works with the interdisciplinary team to deliver individualized care throughout the entire treatment process.Comply with clinic policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.Specialist skills and formal qualifications in one or all of the following subspecialities: Sensory Integration, Cognitive Rehabiltiation, Hand Therapy (Splinting), Seating, Alternate Access, Neurorehabiltiation.Qualifications Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy.
