Backend Developer – Django / ERP SystemsAbout the RoleWe are looking for a skilled Backend Developer to join our development team and contribute to the development and continuous improvement of Kamash Finance, a fully operational financial and accounting ERP system.The system is built using Django and PostgreSQL and covers the complete financial and accounting cycle, including:General Ledger (GL): Chart of Accounts, Cost Centers, Journal Entries (Simple, Vertical, and Opening Entries), Trial Balance, and Financial Statements.Treasury & Banking: Cashiers, Bank Accounts, Transfers, Bank Transactions, and Notifications.Commercial Papers: Cheques (Collection, Payment, Returned, and Rejected), Deposit Notifications, Receivables, and Payables.Receipts & Payments: Receipt Vouchers, Payment Vouchers, and Receipt-to-Invoice Reconciliation.Purchasing: Purchase Requests, Purchase Orders, Goods Receipts, Purchase Invoices, and Automatic Accounting Entries.Sales: Quotations, Sales Orders, and Sales Invoices.Inventory: Inventory Transactions, Batch/Lot Number Management, Cost Pricing Engine, and Cost Recalculation.Import Management: Suppliers, Shipments, Letters of Credit (LCs), and Supplier & Shipping Company Evaluation.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and enhance ERP modules using Django and Django REST Framework (DRF).Implement accurate and reliable accounting business logic, including posting services, automated journal entries, reconciliations, and financial transactions.Design, modify, and optimize Django Models and Database Migrations using PostgreSQL while ensuring existing data remains safe and consistent.Develop and maintain Django Templates integrated with backend APIs.Write and maintain comprehensive Unit Tests, particularly for critical financial and accounting modules.Optimize database queries and application performance, especially when working with large datasets and high-volume financial transactions.Develop and manage background and asynchronous tasks using Celery and Redis.Troubleshoot and resolve backend, database, and application issues.Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to clean coding and development standards.Document code, technical processes, and business logic clearly in Arabic and English.Collaborate with other developers and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver reliable ERP solutions.Ensure system stability, scalability, security, and data integrity across all financial modules.Required Qualifications & SkillsProven experience as a Backend Developer using Python and Django.Strong experience with Django REST Framework (DRF) and API development.Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and relational database design.Solid understanding of Django ORM and advanced query optimization.Experience working with Celery and Redis for background and asynchronous processing.Strong understanding of software architecture, clean code, and design patterns.Experience with database migrations and handling production databases without compromising existing data.Experience writing Unit Tests and integration tests.Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.Good understanding of Git and version control workflows.Ability to understand and implement complex business logic and financial workflows.Experience with ERP, accounting, financial, inventory, procurement, sales, or similar business systems is highly preferred.Good understanding of accounting concepts and financial transactions is a strong advantage.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a development team.Good English communication and technical documentation skills.Technical StackBackend: Python, Django, Django REST FrameworkDatabase: PostgreSQLBackground Tasks: Celery, RedisFrontend Integration: Django Templates, REST APIsVersion Control: GitSystem Type: Financial & Accounting ERP
