Requirements
Requires 4+ years of experience in a similar position, working knowledge of Eplan, Autodesk Inventor, PLM/PDM data systems, and 3D CAD. Must have demonstrable understanding of engineering documents and drawings, experience leading Electrical design projects, and the ability to design & troubleshoot Electromechanical systems. A degree in Electrical or related Engineering is required. Working knowledge of ISO9001, manufacturing environments, and design codes like IEC Standards, EU Directives, CE Marking, ATEX, IECEx, Norsok is necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is also required. Preferable experience in the Energy Industry, specifically Wireline Intervention, completion methods, and winches.
Description
As an Electrical design Engineer, you will utilize your technical knowledge and experience as an important member of the Electrical design team within a global engineering group. This group is responsible for delivering a range of world class leading innovative engineering designs and solutions for Wireline Systems, Wellhead Pressure Control Equipment, and machinery to satisfy customers. Acting under the guidance of the Principal Engineer, the Electrical Design Engineer produces these solutions for hydraulic, pneumatic, or electromechanical system designs using advanced CAD tools where appropriate for the task. You should be keen to take on fresh challenges, develop your technical and interpersonal skills as well as expand your knowledge and experience through a variety of exciting projects. Crucial to this role will be your ability to contribute to continual improvement processes, enhancing efficiency and performance within your team, and working in line with our business strategy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Apply technical knowledge to innovate, design and develop customized customer-centric designs
- Carry out Electrical Engineering design, analysis, testing & validation as required
- Plan and lead design small to medium sized projects as allocated by the Principal Engineer with some supervision
- Prepare cost estimates and ensure all designs assigned are completed within budget
- Ensure designs produced are efficient and cost effective, seeking to reuse existing designs and components wherever practical
- Prepare and check associated engineering documents in accordance with engineering group policy, (such as drawings, technical illustrations, manuals, reports and calculations)
- Participate in sales contract reviews & internal design review meetings, being aware of commercial implications
- Attend and participate in client meetings, always ensuring customer care is the foremost priority
- Ensure all assigned deliverables are technically in accordance with client requirements and established contract requirements
- Develop and take part in test programs and factory acceptance tests to validate designs
- Ensure Engineering Change procedures are implemented thoroughly, helping always minimize disruption to the business.
- Contribute to the investigation, resolution and documentation of Engineering queries including through Engineering Support functions in a timely and technically acceptable fashion
- Remain aware and involved in the latest developments within the industry and the greater engineering world to identify any potential concepts that could be incorporated into new designs
- Ensure a high standard of professionalism is maintained
- Ensure accurate record keeping in relation to projects and time recording according to required schedule
- Support other departments and business units both locally and globally and carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager
- Travel required as dictated by project needs (worldwide travel) for client meetings, and to provide site installation, commissioning and testing support or other related activity as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 4 plus Years of Experience in a similar position
- Working knowledge of Eplan
- Demonstrable understanding of engineering documents and drawings
- Working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, PLM/PDM data systems
- Experience of leading Electrical design projects within multi-disciplinary teams
- Design & troubleshoot Electromechanical system
- Knowledge of 3D CAD.
- Minimum Qualification Degree Level or similar in Electrical or related Engineering
- Working knowledge of ISO9001
- Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook)
- Working knowledge within a manufacturing environment
- Design codes: IEC Standards, EU Directives and CE Marking, ATEX, IECEx, Norsok.
- Preferable working knowledge of The Energy Industry and operations, specifically Wireline Intervention and completion methods, Wireline winches, masts and associated product designs and Preparing technical files complying with European Regulations.
