Role overview
The relationship manager will be responsible for acquiring, developing, and maintaining relationships with HNI/NRI clients, as well as driving growth in assets under management (AUM) for the investment funds promoted by the firm. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong track record across various investment products. The successful candidate will lead client relationship management, effectively promote approved funds, and ensure full compliance with UAE Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) regulations as well as the firm’s internal policies.
Key responsibilities
Build and manage a portfolio of HNI and NRI clients, including proactively sourcing new clients and deepening engagement with existing clients.
Conduct comprehensive client assessments to understand risk profile and investment objectives, ensuring investment allocations are consistent with the firm’s approved products and regulatory guidelines.
Develop and execute investment product promotional strategies.
Stay abreast of global markets, investment product launches, regulatory developments (especially as relevant to UAE & cross-border/NRI clients) and investment themes.
Work closely with internal teams (investment research, product specialists, operations, compliance) to deliver seamless client service and product implementation.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory, legal and internal governance standards (UAE, FATCA for NRIs etc.).
Maintain and grow a strong client network within the HNI/NRI community.
Qualifications & experience
Experience: Minimum 5 years, ideally up to 15 years, of wealth management, private client advisory or investment/portfolio management experience with various investment products.
Proven track record of managing HNI or NRI client relationships.
Educational background: Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration or similar; advanced qualification (MBA, CFA, CFP) preferred.
Excellent analytical, quantitative and financial modelling skills; capable of interpreting market trends and product strategies.
Exceptional communication, presentation and relationship-building skills; must be able to explain investment products clearly to sophisticated clients.
Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with ability to generate new business while managing and servicing existing clients.
Familiarity with UAE financial regulations, NRI investment rules and compliance frameworks.
Strong ethical standards, confidentiality, integrity and client-first orientation.
