Job Purpose Strengthen Khalifa University's research-intensive Mathematics Department through internationally competitive research, high-quality teaching, graduate supervision, and academic service.About the RoleThe Department seeks mathematicians at Assistant or Associate Professor level who can build an independent, visible research program and contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate education. Priority areas include:Computational and applied mathematicsPartial differential equations, numerical analysis, and scientific computingInverse problems and mathematical imagingOptimization and operations researchProbability, statistics, and uncertainty quantificationMathematical foundations of data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligenceFinancial mathematics, quantitative finance, and riskQuantum mathematics, quantum information, and mathematical foundations of quantum computingMathematical modeling and interdisciplinary applicationsExceptional candidates in other areas of mathematics whose research can strengthen the Department's scientific profile and contribute to its future development are also strongly encouraged to apply.ResponsibilitiesEstablish and sustain a high-quality, internationally visible research program.Publish in respected peer-reviewed journals and scholarly venues.Pursue external funding and develop internal and external research collaborations.Supervise and mentor undergraduate, MSc, and PhD students.Teach undergraduate and postgraduate mathematics courses.Contribute to course and curriculum development, assessment, and student feedback.Participate in departmental, college, university, and professional service.Support knowledge transfer, innovation, and interdisciplinary applications where relevant.QualificationsPhD or equivalent terminal degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related discipline.For Assistant Professor: strong research achievements relative to career stage, evidence of research independence, potential for excellent teaching and graduate supervision, and preferably postdoctoral experience.For Associate Professor: sustained internationally recognized research record, successful graduate supervision, academic leadership, external research engagement/funding, and collaboration-building experience.Strong mathematical depth, research integrity, mentoring ability, collegiality, and commitment to departmental development.Application MaterialsApplicants should submit the following:Cover letter indicating the rank sought and explaining the candidate's fit with the Department.Curriculum Vitae, including publications, research funding, graduate supervision, and relevant academic or professional activities.Research Statement (2–4 pages) describing major contributions and a 3–5 year research program, including prospective collaborations and funding plans where relevant.Teaching Statement (1–2 pages) describing teaching philosophy, experience, and courses the candidate could contribute to the Department.Names and contact details of at least three references.Candidates whose work includes substantial innovation, technology transfer, industry collaboration, or entrepreneurship are encouraged to describe these activities within the research statement or CV; a separate innovation statement is not required.
