Description
The Cost Control Engineer is responsible for managing project budgets, monitoring expenditures, and analyzing cost variances to ensure projects are completed within approved financial limits. The role involves supporting the implementation of cost control procedures, optimizing resource allocation, and mitigating financial risks to maintain project profitability and alignment with financial objectives.Job ResponsibilitiesAssist in developing and maintaining project budgets in coordination with project managers and stakeholders.Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets and identify potential cost overruns.Perform variance analysis to identify deviations from planned costs and recommend corrective actions.Prepare periodic reports on project financial performance, including budget vs. actual analysis and cost forecasts.Support the identification of cost-related risks and opportunities, and contribute to mitigation strategies.Ensure adherence to cost control procedures, company policies, and financial regulations.Coordinate with project teams, including engineering and procurement, to align cost control activities with project objectives.Maintain cost tracking systems and ensure accurate recording of project expenses.Assist in improving cost control processes and adopting best practices for efficiency.Support HSE initiatives and comply with company safety and IMS policies.Job Knowledge & SkillsKnowledge of cost estimating tools such as CCS (Candy) is preferred.Understanding of cost management, estimation, and change control processes.Proficiency in MS Office applications; knowledge of Primavera P6 is an advantage.Familiarity with multi-project resource planning.Basic understanding of project management principles and techniques.ERP knowledge, preferably SAP, is an added advantage.Job ExperienceMinimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in cost control or project finance.GCC experience is a plus.EducationBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related Engineering discipline.
