Job Summary:The Planning Engineer implements and monitors engineering design stages planning processes, reviews and monitors consultant design plans and authorities approval to ensure that there is no clash between construction and design plans, efficient delivery of the design engineering to maintain construction plans progress without delay. Monitors procurement process to ensure of material deliverable on site as per construction plans. Coordinates between constructions need and consultants to deliver all required for construction on time.Job Responsibilities:Provide project planning/scheduling support and manage small team of planners.Manage the project schedules in accordance with the project work breakdown structure and ensuring the project that project schedules are developed.Ensure that project plans are regularly updated and within levels certainty to allow effective monitoring forecasting and control.Produce pre-design, design, tender and award, procurement, construction, and completion scheduling in order to depict the project and contractual requirements in compliance to the planning procedures.Analyze project requirements, preparation of resource and cost loaded planning schedulesProduce resource histograms for manpower, material and submittals.Evaluate and analyze the progress through updated status reports in various formats based on the contract schedule in order to provide performance assessment and accurate forecasts.Coordinate and liaise with project managers to update the detailed works programCoordinate and liaise with subcontractors and authorities in relation to planning and programming matters for the various interfaces that exist on the projectLiaise with the Project Director/Manager on the different scenarios to be simulated in the schedule Prepare What if AnalysisReview and evaluate the subcontractor's schedules and reports and recommend necessary actions in order to align the subcontracted items in schedule to the contract schedule.Prepare the progress monitoring portion of the monthly report including the monthly schedule updates in order to incorporate in the monthly progress report submittal to the client and the managementParticipate in the progress and coordination meetings in order to discuss the status of the project.Support the implementation of HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company and IMS policiesJob Knowledge & SkillsKnowledge in Engineering fundamentalsKnowledge in Principles of planning and knowledge in Principles and practices of research and date collection.Familiarity with planning practices and the associated software such as Advance Primavera 6Knowledge in Principles and practices of research and data collectionFamiliar with local and international standards in constructionERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.Education and Experience:Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture Engineering.Minimum 6 months of experience in Planning field.
