Batterjee Medical College is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Biomedical Technician to support the maintenance, calibration, repair, and safe operation of medical, laboratory, and simulation equipment across the campus. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting academic, research, and clinical activities.Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Maintenance & Technical SupportPerform preventive and corrective maintenance on biomedical and laboratory equipment.Diagnose faults and conduct repairs on medical, laboratory, and simulation devices.Troubleshoot technical issues and respond promptly to equipment breakdowns.Ensure all equipment operates according to manufacturer specifications.Installation & CommissioningAssist in the installation, setup, and commissioning of new equipment.Conduct functionality and safety checks before equipment handover.Ensure proper configuration and operational readiness.Calibration & Quality AssurancePerform basic calibration and functional testing where applicable.Support quality assurance activities and equipment validation processes.Coordinate external calibration services when required.Asset & Inventory ManagementMaintain equipment inventory records, service histories, and asset tracking systems.Monitor spare parts availability and manage technical tools and testing instruments.Ensure proper identification and tagging of biomedical equipment.Documentation & ComplianceMaintain accurate maintenance, repair, calibration, and testing records.Support audits and regulatory compliance requirements.Follow institutional policies, manufacturer guidelines, and safety standards.User Training & Academic SupportProvide basic operational guidance and technical support to faculty, staff, and laboratory users.Support laboratory sessions, practical classes, and examinations by ensuring equipment readiness.Coordinate maintenance schedules to minimize disruption to academic activities.Vendor CoordinationLiaise with equipment suppliers and external service providers.Supervise vendor maintenance activities and verify service quality.RequirementsDiploma degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field.Minimum 2–5 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance preferred.Knowledge & SkillsKnowledge of biomedical equipment, medical devices, and laboratory systems.Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.Understanding of preventive maintenance and calibration practices.Excellent documentation and reporting abilities.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively.Basic communication skills in Arabic and English.CompetenciesAttention to detail and accuracy.Accountability and reliability.Strong organizational skills.Teamwork and collaboration.Ability to work under pressure.Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
