We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled pediatric surgeon / pediatric surgery specialist to join a leading healthcare facility in the UAE.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in the surgical management of infants, children, and adolescents, with a strong commitment to safe, compassionate, and family-centered care.
The successful candidate will work closely with pediatricians, neonatologists, anesthesiologists, radiologists, intensivists, and other specialists to provide comprehensive surgical care.
Key responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive pediatric surgical consultations and clinical assessments.
Diagnose and manage surgical conditions affecting newborns, infants, children, and adolescents.
Develop individualized surgical treatment plans based on clinical findings and diagnostic investigations.
Perform pediatric surgical procedures within the physician's training, competence, and approved clinical scope.
Manage both elective and emergency pediatric surgical cases.
Assess and treat children presenting with acute abdominal pain, gastrointestinal conditions, congenital abnormalities, trauma, and other surgical emergencies.
Evaluate and manage common pediatric surgical conditions including hernias, hydroceles, undescended testes, appendicitis, bowel disorders, and anorectal conditions.
Participate in the management of congenital and neonatal surgical conditions where appropriately trained.
Perform appropriate minimally invasive or laparoscopic pediatric procedures where qualified.
Review and interpret relevant laboratory investigations, ultrasound, X-ray, CT, MRI, and other diagnostic studies.
Provide pre-operative counseling to parents and caregivers regarding diagnosis, treatment options, procedures, risks, and expected outcomes.
Provide post-operative care, follow-up, and management of surgical complications.
Coordinate care with pediatric intensive care, neonatology, anesthesia, emergency medicine, radiology, and other specialties.
Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and confidential medical records.
Communicate effectively with children and their families in an age-appropriate and compassionate manner.
Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions, clinical audits, quality improvement, and patient-safety initiatives.
Requirements

Recognized postgraduate qualification in pediatric surgery / paediatric surgery or an equivalent recognized specialty.
Relevant post-specialization clinical experience.
Strong experience in pediatric surgical practice.
