Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or HVAC/Building Services Engineering.

  • Min 5 years of HVAC design experience, preferably within the UAE/GCC/INDIA.

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC design principles, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and psychrometrics.

  • Practical experience with Carrier HAP or equivalent load-calculation software.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit/BIM experience is an advantage.

  • Good knowledge of HVAC equipment selection and system sizing.

  • Familiarity with ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA and applicable UAE/local authority requirements.

  • Experience with Dubai Municipality, Civil Defence, DEWA, DDA or other relevant authority requirements is an advantage. 

  • Strong coordination, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

We are seeking a qualified HVAC Design Engineer to design, develop, and coordinate HVAC systems for commercial, residential, industrial, retail, and fit-out projects. The role will involve HVAC load calculations, equipment selection, duct and piping design, preparation of technical drawings and BOQs, multidisciplinary coordination, and technical support during construction and commissioning. Current UAE HVAC roles commonly emphasize HAP/AutoCAD, ASHRAE/SMACNA compliance, authority requirements, and coordination with site and consultant teams.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform heating and cooling load calculations using HAP or equivalent HVAC software.Design and size HVAC systems including:Chillers and chilled-water systemsAHU / FAHU / FCUVRF/VRV systemsDX and packaged unitsVentilation and fresh-air systemsExhaust and smoke-extraction systemsPerform duct sizing, chilled-water/refrigerant pipe sizing, pressure-drop and ESP calculations.Select HVAC equipment based on project requirements, performance, efficiency, space constraints, and operating conditions.Prepare HVAC layouts, schematics, equipment schedules, sections, details, and design calculations.Prepare BOQ/BOM, material take-offs, technical specifications, and equipment schedules.Coordinate HVAC designs with architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, and BMS disciplines.Review consultant drawings, specifications, tender documents, RFIs, and technical requirements.Prepare and review shop drawings and respond to technical comments.Review equipment selections, supplier quotations, technical submittals, datasheets, and material samples.Support project teams during installation, site inspections, testing, balancing, commissioning, and handover.Identify design clashes and site constraints and provide practical engineering solutions.Ensure designs comply with applicable ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, project specifications, and UAE authority requirements.
