Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced consultant pediatric emergency medicine physician to join a leading healthcare provider in the Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra regions. The successful candidate will provide expert emergency medical care for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents, managing a broad spectrum of acute illnesses and injuries while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely, high-quality patient care.
Key responsibilities
Assess, diagnose, and manage pediatric emergency cases, including medical, surgical, and traumatic conditions.
Provide rapid stabilization and resuscitation of critically ill or injured pediatric patients.
Perform emergency procedures such as airway management, procedural sedation, vascular access, lumbar puncture, fracture management, and wound care.
Collaborate with pediatric subspecialists, surgeons, intensivists, anesthesiologists, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
Lead pediatric emergency response and trauma teams when required.
Supervise and support junior physicians, residents, nurses, and allied healthcare staff.
Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions, clinical governance, and departmental meetings.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and Department of Health (DOH) regulations.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, research, and accreditation activities.
Contribute to teaching, mentoring, and continuing medical education programs.
Participate in rotational shifts, weekends, holidays, and the on-call roster as required.

Qualifications
MBBS or equivalent medical qualification recognized by the Department of Health (DOH), Abu Dhabi.
MD, DNB, Arab Board, American Board, Canadian Board, FRCP, FACEM, FRCEM, or equivalent qualification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Emergency Medicine with Pediatric Emergency fellowship, or Pediatrics with accredited Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship.
Eligibility for DOH Consultant licensure.
Valid BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications.
ATLS certification is preferred.
