Overview of the role
The Digital Channel Web Merchandiser is responsible for ensuring that IKEA's website and app present a cohesive, visually appealing, and inspiring brand experience. This role aims to boost customer frequency and sales by developing and executing merchandising strategies, enhancing user experience, and presenting IKEA products informatively. The merchandiser continually analyzes sales data and customer behavior, collaborates with global and local teams, and aligns digital content with commercial priorities to optimize the online shopping experience. Success in this role is measured by increased e-commerce sales, improved customer satisfaction, and effective integration of commercial and technical developments.
What you will do
Continually merchandise the IKEA website in the most optimal and engaging way.
Coordinate the creation and delivery of all weekly, monthly, and bi-monthly reporting, specifically providing insights and analyses across e-commerce metrics packages.
Manage homepage and landing page content, aligning with promotions, seasonality, and marketing campaigns.
Optimize layout of product listing page based on commercial priorities and desired user experience as per IKEA global guidelines and local relevance.
Actively monitor website data, search metrics, and sales performance to understand customer behavior and act accordingly.
Analyze sales data, website traffic, and search metrics to inform merchandising decisions.
Create recommendations for sales steering and the most relevant and commercial cross-selling, upselling, and add-on opportunities.
Work closely with the global team for alignment on business priorities and technical developments.
Ensure that web and app site visitors can navigate, search, find, and buy on our platforms in an optimal way.
Work closely with range and SEO/SEM teams to contribute to engaging content and SEO-optimized product descriptions that resonate with customers.
Reflect the life at home knowledge from the local market in the range presentation the IKEA way.
Categorize and organize products to ensure a user-friendly browsing experience.
Analyze digital merchandising performance and insights to secure successful add-on sales and contribute to better margins.
Know the global IKEA priorities, the IKEA product range, the national market and competition, and work to support commercial activities and the commercial calendar to convert more visitors to customers and generate repeat visits.
Work actively with the online product range, monitor performance, and continually develop range frame options to maximize sales.
Required skills to be successful
Strong specialist knowledge in digital merchandising and e-commerce.
Ability to inspire and lead people and organizations to achieve outstanding results.
Proficiency in analyzing data, understanding consumer behavior, and making data-driven decisions.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
What qualifies you for the role
High school credential required.
Extensive knowledge of e-commerce and web merchandising methods, including online marketing tools.
Sound knowledge of IKEA business plans, strategies, and the IKEA product range.
Experience in using UX design best practices with a focus on mobile-first and responsive design.
