Requirements

The successful candidate will provide specialized image-guided diagnostic and minimally invasive interventional procedures for infants, children, and adolescents. The consultant will collaborate closely with pediatricians, pediatric surgeons, oncologists, intensivists, nephrologists, gastroenterologists, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered care. Key responsibilities Perform a wide range of minimally invasive image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in pediatric patients. Utilize ultrasound, fluoroscopy, CT, and MRI guidance for interventional procedures as appropriate. Perform vascular interventions, including angiography, embolization, angioplasty, and vascular access procedures. Conduct non-vascular interventions such as biopsies, drain placements, abscess drainage, nephrostomy, biliary interventions, gastrostomy placement, and central venous access. Manage pediatric patients with congenital vascular malformations and other complex vascular conditions. Provide pre-procedural assessment, informed consent, procedural planning, and post-procedural follow-up. Collaborate with multidisciplinary pediatric teams to develop individualized treatment plans. Participate in pediatric multidisciplinary meetings, tumor boards, and quality improvement initiatives. Ensure radiation safety and adherence to the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles in pediatric imaging and interventions. Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in accordance with hospital policies. Supervise junior physicians, fellows, residents, radiographers, and nursing staff. Participate in teaching, clinical research, audits, and continuing medical education (CME) activities. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, patient safety standards, and international best practices. Eligibility for or possession of a DHA, DOH, or MOHAP consultant license. Experience Minimum 3–5 years of post-board/fellowship experience as a consultant interventional radiologist with significant pediatric interventional radiology experience (or as required by UAE licensing regulations). Extensive experience performing complex pediatric vascular and non-vascular image-guided interventions. Experience in internationally accredited tertiary pediatric hospitals or academic medical centers is highly desirable. Demonstrated expertise in multidisciplinary pediatric patient management. Skills & competencies Expertise in pediatric interventional radiology procedures. Strong knowledge of pediatric anatomy, physiology, and congenital disorders.
