Requires a BS/BA in Hotel Administration or relevant discipline, or equivalent education and experience. Must have 4 to 7 years of chain restaurant management or hotel food and beverage operations experience. Demonstrated ability in organizing F&B program implementations, evaluating/tracking implementations, understanding adult training materials and delivery, analyzing P&L statements and sales summaries, and using computerized software for reports. Knowledge of Brand standards and health/safety regulations is essential.
Description
Role PurposeDevelop plans and coordinate implementation for all Food and Beverage Programs and test initiatives. Develop, test, manage and evaluate F&B Programs to support the brand image, and to ensure profitability and guest satisfaction.Key AccountabilitiesAssist with developing, implementing and monitoring all Food and Beverage test initiatives, ensuring accurate and useful data collection and analysis by developing appropriate measurement tools, assessing time frames for testing, training and follow-up, and working with F&B Consultants to evaluate the data they collect in their hotel visits during program testing. Track, compile and analyze data from hotels such as sales summaries of F&B programs. Generate reports and memos to upper-level management and to franchisees.Write training and specification manuals to support F&B Programs. Ensure that manuals meet all Company policies and are in accordance with local, State and Federal laws and guidelines concerning kitchen equipment, health and safety, etc. Develop training guidebooks and provide website information regarding program implementation procedures.Conduct workshops for new general managers, F&B Directors and new owners; provide F&B orientation for new hires in other departments ,such as FPS; conduct field F&B workshops as needed; and assist F&B Consultants with field workshops as appropriateMaintain and refresh F&B programs as neededPlan and coordinate two F&B Council meetings each yearWork with outside agencies, as appropriate, to develop merchandising support for F&B Programs, or to gain assistance in developing training materials.Communicate and interpret food and beverage standards to operators, operations leaders and owners. Communicate about Food and Beverage developments and offerings to the franchisee community via resource guides, conferences and tradeshows, and OnLine web site. Act as primary point of contact for these offerings, answering questions and addressing potential franchisee issues as necessary. Responsible for all communication about F&B developments and offerings internally, to appropriate departments; work with public relations to promote F&B developments as appropriate.Test and research food and beverage products which support F&B Programs; Represent and coordinate the food and beverage department's presence at periodic events such as Global Investors Conference. Coordinate F&B Council (IAHI) meetings; manage communication to committee membersConsult with hotels regarding food and beverage training, outlet profitability or leasing opportunities; conduct periodic property visits to follow up on effectiveness of F&B ProgramsCoordinate with outside agencies, printers, vendors, and restaurant companies. Follow-up with strategic alliances and procurement department to ensure marketing/ service fees are collected and distributed.Maintain F&B WebsiteTriage F&B related questions and identify correct individuals to answerAdminister Holiday Inn Menu Programs, including billing and relationship with Inner workingsAdminister other ongoing Food & Beverage programs, as necessaryWork with outside agencies to develop merchandising for F&B Programs, as appropriateManage content on IHG Merlin Hotel SolutionsPerform other duties as requiredKey Skills & ExperiencesEducation -BS/BA in Hotel Administration or relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience in F&B program management.Experience -4 to 7 years chain restaurant management or hotel food and beverage operations experience with demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines/processes related to thePosition.Technical Skills and Knowledge -Demonstrated ability to organize and plan F&B program implementations in multiple locations, and to evaluate and track simultaneous implementations or tests.Demonstrated understanding of adult training materials, and demonstrated experience developing training materials and/or delivering training to adults in a business or hospitality industry setting.Demonstrated understanding of profit and loss statements and sales summaries, and ability to read and analyze F&B financial program data.Demonstrated clear, concise and succinct communication skills, including adapting both verbal and written communication to the needs and level of user. May be required to use consultative or persuasive communication skills to effectively implement programs or resolve compliance issues with franchisees.
