Position: Project Commissioning Manager
Location: UAE - Site based
Reporting to: Project Director
Job Purpose:
The Project Commissioning Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and managing commissioning activities for a large-scale solar power project. This role ensures seamless integration, testing, and operational readiness of all project systems while adhering to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement the commissioning plan, procedures, and schedules in alignment with project requirements.
Lead the testing, pre-commissioning, and final commissioning of electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
Coordinate with engineering, construction, and quality teams to ensure timely and successful project commissioning.
Oversee system integration, performance testing, and troubleshooting of solar panels, inverters, transformers, switchgear, and SCADA systems.
Ensure compliance with EPC contract requirements, industry standards, and regulatory approvals.
Implement corrective actions and process optimizations based on test results and performance analysis.
Enforce HSE protocols during commissioning to ensure a safe working environment.
Identify potential risks and implement mitigation measures to prevent commissioning delays.
Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for any commissioning-related failures.
Collaborate with project managers, clients, and regulatory bodies to ensure commissioning milestones are met.
Manage coordination between OEMs, subcontractors, and third-party testing agencies.
Lead and mentor the commissioning team, ensuring best practices and technical excellence.
Qualifications & Competencies
Bachelor's degree in electrical or related engineering field.
Experience: Minimum 15+ years in project commissioning, with at least 5 years in a similar role handling large-scale EPC renewable projects.
Certifications in commissioning, testing, and quality assurance preferred.
Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, SCADA, and grid integration.
Experience in EPC project execution, troubleshooting, and compliance testing.
Leadership in cross-functional team coordination and stakeholder management.
Expertise in solar power plant commissioning, system testing, and performance validation.
