The successful candidate will provide expert emergency medical care to patients presenting with acute illnesses, traumatic injuries, and life-threatening conditions. The consultant will lead multidisciplinary emergency teams, ensure rapid clinical decision-making, and deliver evidence-based care while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and quality. Key responsibilities Assess, diagnose, stabilize, and manage patients presenting with medical, surgical, traumatic, pediatric, and obstetric emergencies. Provide immediate life-saving interventions and advanced resuscitation for critically ill and injured patients. Lead trauma and cardiac arrest teams, ensuring timely and effective emergency management. Perform emergency procedures including airway management, endotracheal intubation, central venous catheter insertion, chest tube placement, procedural sedation, cardioversion, defibrillation, and wound management. Interpret laboratory results, ECGs, bedside ultrasound, radiological investigations, and other diagnostic studies to support rapid clinical decision-making. Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and referrals with inpatient specialties and intensive care services. Supervise and mentor specialist physicians, residents, nursing staff, and allied healthcare professionals within the Emergency Department. Participate in disaster preparedness planning, mass casualty response, and emergency department operational improvement initiatives. Maintain accurate and timely documentation using electronic medical records (EMR). Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement programs, morbidity and mortality meetings, research, and continuing medical education (CME).
