Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.7–10 years of experience in supply chain, strategic sourcing, procurement engineering, or supplier development.Experience in one or more of the following industries:Railway manufacturingSheet metal fabricationHVAC manufacturingPrecision machiningRail interiors or transportation equipmentStrong understanding of:Sheet metal fabrication (laser cutting, punching, bending, welding, powder coating)CNC machining, milling, turning, grinding, and fabrication processesHVAC systems and componentsRailway manufacturing standards and supply chainsEngineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and manufacturing specificationsCost estimation and should-cost analysisExperience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.Knowledge of railway standards such as EN 15085, EN 45545, ISO 22163 (IRIS), or equivalent.Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and supplier quality processes.Professional certifications such as CSCP, CPSM, or Lean Six Sigma are an advantage.
Description
Source and develop suppliers for sheet metal fabrication, machining, rail interiors, and HVAC components.Evaluate supplier capabilities, capacity, quality systems, and manufacturing processes.Manage RFQs, supplier quotations, commercial negotiations, and supplier selection.Analyze BOMs, engineering drawings, and technical specifications for sourcing requirements.Collaborate with engineering teams during new product development and supplier qualification.Monitor supplier performance using KPIs such as quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness.Implement supplier development and continuous improvement initiatives.Resolve supply chain issues affecting production schedules.Conduct supplier audits and support compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 22163 (IRIS), ISO 14001, and customer requirements where applicable.Coordinate with procurement, planning, quality, logistics, and manufacturing teams.Identify cost reduction opportunities through value engineering, localization, and process improvements.Ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and customer requirements.Support inventory optimization while maintaining supply continuity.Manage engineering changes (ECN/ECR) and ensure supplier implementation.Maintain accurate supplier documentation and sourcing records
