Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, MEP, Materials Management, Stores Management, or a related field.

  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in MEP stores/material management, preferably within engineering, construction, infrastructure, industrial, or EPC projects.

  • Hands-on experience managing MEP materials and equipment at large-scale project sites.

  • Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, ELV, and other MEP materials is preferred.

  • UAE/GCC experience is highly preferred.

  • Experience working on projects in Dubai and Abu Dhabi will be an advantage.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems, material management procedures, and UAE construction practices will be preferred.

Manage day-to-day operations of the MEP project store.Receive and verify MEP materials, equipment, tools, and consumables against purchase orders, delivery notes, material requisitions, and approved specifications.Check quantities, item descriptions, technical specifications, model numbers, ratings, and physical condition of received materials.Coordinate with QA/QC and MEP engineering teams for inspection, approval, and acceptance of materials.Ensure rejected, damaged, expired, or non-conforming materials are clearly identified, segregated, and reported.Store and maintain HVAC equipment, electrical panels, cables, cable trays, conduits, pipes, fittings, valves, pumps, firefighting materials, plumbing materials, lighting equipment, ELV components, BMS equipment, and other MEP materials.Ensure proper storage and preservation of sensitive MEP equipment and materials in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and project requirements.Maintain proper identification and traceability of materials, including serial numbers, batch numbers, cable drum numbers, model numbers, and test certificates where applicable.Issue MEP materials to construction teams against approved material requisitions and authorized requests.Maintain accurate records of material receipts, issues, returns, transfers, and stock balances.Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels and coordinate with procurement and project teams for timely replenishment.Maintain detailed records of cable drums, including receipt, storage location, issue, balance length, and consumption.Monitor the storage and preservation of electrical and mechanical equipment to prevent damage from moisture, dust, temperature, or improper handling.Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile physical inventory with ERP/system and manual records.Investigate and report stock discrepancies, shortages, excesses, damaged materials, and losses.Monitor MEP material consumption and support project teams in minimizing wastage and material losses.Coordinate with logistics teams for loading, unloading, transportation, and delivery of materials to work fronts.Ensure safe handling, stacking, lifting, and movement of MEP materials and equipment.Maintain proper housekeeping, labeling, organization, and accessibility of store areas.Maintain records of tools, testing equipment, consumables, spare parts, and other project assets under store control.Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and material movement reports.Maintain Material Receipt Notes, Material Issue Notes, Material Return Notes, transfer records, and other store documentation.Coordinate with MEP Engineers, Supervisors, Procurement, QA/QC, Planning, Construction, and Logistics teams regarding material requirements.Support material planning and forecasting based on MEP construction schedules and project requirements.Identify slow-moving, surplus, obsolete, or excess MEP materials and report them to management.Ensure proper return, disposal, or transfer of unused, damaged, or expired materials in accordance with company procedures.Support internal and external audits by providing accurate inventory records and supporting documentation.Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements for storage and handling of electrical, mechanical, chemical, and other potentially hazardous materials.Assist in project close-out by reconciling inventory, returning surplus materials, and preparing final store records.Perform other store and material-control duties assigned by management.
