Overview of the role
The recovery assistant plays a crucial role in the recovery and quality work processes within the store, aimed at minimizing unnecessary costs to assets and enhancing profitability through sustainable practices. Working collaboratively with other store functions, the assistant is responsible for identifying, investigating, reporting, and following up on potential improvements in recovery procedures and the quality associated with IKEA items. Success in this role is defined by the ability to give products a second chance, optimize returns through strategic recovery processes, and facilitate a seamless operational flow while maintaining high standards of customer service.
What you will do
Collect products from different store locations including customer returns, damage in the store and in transit, display, quality cases following company standard operating procedures.
Identify product conditions and decide on actions such as repackaging, selling in AsIs (Circular Hub), selling as parts, keeping for internal spare parts, or destructing according to company standard operating procedures.
Display products for sale in AsIs (Circular Hub) safely and commercially, adhering to company pricing principles and display techniques.
Provide visitors in AsIs (Circular Hub) with a positive shopping experience by being service-minded and ensuring all relevant standards are met or exceeded.
Understand IKEA products thoroughly to offer customers information on product range, assembly instructions, and required spare parts.
Perform inventory in AsIs (Circular Hub) and conduct investigations to minimize discrepancies under the supervision of the recovery group leader.
Work closely with relevant functions to support efficient item flow through recovery to maximize profit and secure compliance in working methods.
