Research opportunity in partial differential equations and mathematical fluid dynamics
The research group of Prof. Taoufik Hmidi at New York University Abu Dhabi is seeking a research scientist to conduct research in partial differential equations (PDEs), mathematical fluid dynamics, and related areas of mathematical physics. We particularly encourage applications from candidates with expertise in nonlinear PDEs, fluid dynamics, KAM theory, hyperbolic systems, kinetic equations, and plasma physics. The research group works on a broad range of problems in nonlinear partial differential equations, mathematical fluid dynamics, and mathematical physics. Research interests include global well-posedness and long time behavior of solutions to nonlinear PDEs; coherent structures in vortex dynamics; KAM theory and dynamical systems, control theory for PDEs; hyperbolic systems; and mathematical problems arising in plasma physics.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the position include conducting independent and collaborative research in PDEs, mathematical fluid dynamics, KAM theory, or closely related areas. Participate actively in research seminars, working groups, and other scientific activities.
Qualifications
Candidates should have an excellent scientific background and a strong research record. In addition to holding a Ph.D. in Mathematics with at least six years of research experience.
