Requirements
A defence or military technology background is mandatory, with experience in defence R&D, military capability development, defence engineering, or technology strategy. Candidates must have experience with technology roadmapping, capability assessment, or technology readiness levels (TRL) and exposure to aerospace, defence systems, mission systems, or advanced military technologies. A degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Defence Technology, Systems Engineering, or Applied Science is required, along with experience working with defence programmes, military platforms, or government defence organisations.

External Job DescriptionRole Overview: We are seeking a Technology Portfolio Specialist with a defence or military technology background to support technology capability analysis, technology roadmapping, and future capability planning. The role focuses on evaluating current defence technologies, identifying emerging capabilities, and supporting long-term technology strategy across aerospace and defence systems.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct technology capability assessments across defence systems, platforms, and supporting technologies.Maintain a technology inventory and capability baseline for existing systems and programmes.Analyse emerging defence and aerospace technologies, including sensors, autonomous systems, electronic warfare, communications, and mission systems.Support development of technology roadmaps (5–10 year horizon) aligned with operational and mission requirements.Prepare technical briefings, analysis reports, and roadmap presentations for senior stakeholders.Engage with engineers, programme teams, and subject matter experts to validate technical capability data.Support technology portfolio governance and reporting activities.Required ExperienceDefence / military technology background is mandatory.Experience in defence R&D, military capability development, defence engineering, or technology strategy.Experience with technology roadmapping, capability assessment, or technology readiness levels (TRL).Exposure to aerospace, defence systems, mission systems, or advanced military technologies.QualificationsDegree in Engineering, Aerospace, Defence Technology, Systems Engineering, or Applied Science.Experience working with defence programmes, military platforms, or government defence organisations.Technical SkillsTechnology capability assessmentDefence technology research and analysisTechnology roadmappingTRL (Technology Readiness Level) evaluationTechnical reporting and briefing preparation
