As an accountant, you will analyse and report flight revenue yields, ensure compliance with the quality management system across all functional units, and maintain financial shared services (FSS) master data accurately and on a timely basis. You will compile, monitor, and follow up on accounting and control reports from outstations, validating their contents through detailed analysis to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with financial policies and procedures. In this role, you will: Review processes, analyse high-risk areas, conduct quality checks, and ensure adequate maintenance of preventive and detective controls to support the completeness, timeliness, accuracy, billing, accounting, computation, and settlement of transactions. Resolve disputes, queries, and discrepancies with internal and external stakeholders in a timely and professional manner. Identify improvement opportunities and actively participate in projects, system enhancement testing, and process changes to enhance business processes and develop in-depth functional knowledge. Monitor the integrity of system interfaces and the completeness of system-generated data. Provide support on key processes and deliverables in the absence of the finance officer and assist the finance officer/controller with month-end reviews by investigating balance movements, ensuring reporting accuracy, and minimizing month-end and year-end adjustments. Provide data analytics support for management information systems (MIS), KPI reporting, and revenue protection activities. Monitor staff workflow to ensure accurate and timely invoice processing and month-end closing activities. Validate expenditures and ensure the accuracy of accruals. Reconcile supplier statements to verify their correctness and validity, ensuring reconciliations are completed regularly and in line with policy requirements. Follow up on and resolve all outstanding reconciliation items. Reconcile and analyse relevant accounts to identify anomalies or discrepancies within agreed timeframes and ensure the company's books accurately reflect monthly transactions and financial positions. Qualification To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements: 12 years of schooling or equivalent. Additional finance-related qualifications are preferred. Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience. Consideration will be given to candidates with 10 years of schooling and 6+ years of relevant experience. Accounting knowledge, preferably from an airline background. High level of computer literacy and good knowledge of office automation software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Good analytical and investigative skills. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with various stakeholders across the business.
