To provide specialized mechanical engineering expertise that strengthens troubleshooting, integrity assurance, and lifecycle performance of mechanical systems across the fleet, ensuring safe, compliant, and reliable operations.Mechanical Technical Governance & Standards- Establish and maintain mechanical engineering standards aligned with OEM, Class, Flag State, and regulatory requirements- Approve mechanical-related maintenance procedures, job plans, and work scopes in accordance with asset‑ management governance- Monitor adherence to mechanical integrity standards across all rigs and escalate significant deviations to the Corporate Asset Manager / Head of MaintenanceMechanical Equipment Reliability & Troubleshooting- Lead advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting for critical mechanical systems (rotating equipment, engines, pumps, cranes, hydraulics)- Guide rig-based teams in root‑ cause analysis and ensure corrective actions address underlying failure modes- Partner with Technical Superintendents to resolve high‑ impact downtime events and validate recovery plansMaintenance Strategy, Planning & Execution Oversight- Review and recommend mechanical PM strategies, task lists, and maintenance intervals based on risk, performance history, and OEM requirements- Validate CMMS job plans, BOMs, and planned maintenance workflows, ensuring data accuracy and consistency- Ensure maintenance execution meets safety‑ critical system requirements and equipment performance standardsMechanical Integrity, Certification & Compliance- Conduct mechanical integrity audits covering pressure systems, lifting equipment, rotating machinery, and hydraulic components- Verify and confirm certification currency for critical mechanical systems, and ensure compliance with class, flag state, API, and regulatory inspection requirements- Identify mechanical risks, document non‑ conformities, and ensure timely completion of corrective actionsProjects, Modifications & Capital Improvements- Provide technical direction for mechanical upgrades, overhauls, and CAPEX initiatives- Review vendor proposals, engineering deliverables, and project scopes for compliance with technical standards- Review and recommend approval of mechanical design changes and hardware modifications through the Management of Change (MOC) processSpares, Lifecycle Management & Reliability Improvement- Analyze critical spare requirements, obsolescence risks, and stock requirements with Supply Chain, Procurement and Planning- Recommend fleetwide reliability improvements and lead initiatives to eliminate repeated mechanical failures- Support long‑ term lifecycle planning and mechanical asset replacement recommendationsTechnical Documentation, Reporting & Data Governance- Ensure mechanical drawings, manuals, and certifications are maintained accurately within controlled repositories- Issue mechanical integrity reports, audit findings, technical advisories, and troubleshooting summaries to Corporate Asset Manager / Head of Maintenance- Maintain high quality data for mechanical assets within the CMMS and engineering records
