Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required with 1-5+ years of experience or demonstrated competency in industrial painting processes, including surface preparation, various painting methods, metal/fiberglass repair, and anticorrosion zinc coating. Must pass a drug screen, physical exam, respirator fit test, and background check. Ability to read blueprints in English, work overtime/weekends, solve problems, and work independently or in a team is essential. Must be physically capable of demanding tasks and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Description
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Material preparation – masking, blowing, sanding and preparing components
Painting – selecting and mixing paints, operating painting equipment including pumps and guns
Abrasive blasting – occasionally operating abrasive blasting equipment to prepare components for paint
Read equipment assembly specifications, such as charts, schematics, blueprints, and typed instructions and details
Participate in regular shop/yard organization and cleanliness exercises
Train new employees in painting/preparation operations as required
Complete and maintain various records and documentation
Demonstrate the capability to work independently or in a team on complex and multiple projects requiring judgment to resolve problems
All other duties as assigned
