Our business is managed on a segment basis, with those segments being Automotive, Industrial, and Interface.Position Summary:The Quality Engineer Liaison serves as the primary quality interface between Methode and assigned customers. The role coordinates the timely containment, investigation, root-cause analysis, and permanent resolution of customer concerns; monitors customer-quality performance and associated costs; and ensures that customer-specific requirements are translated into effective internal controls. The position works cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality teams and represents the company professionally during customer visits, audits, and technical reviews.Key Responsibilities:Act as the day-to-day quality liaison for assigned customers, maintaining clear, timely, and professional communication on quality matters.Receive, investigate, and coordinate the resolution of customer complaints, field concerns, and quality notifications from initial containment through verified closure.Lead or facilitate structured problem solving and root-cause analysis using 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa diagrams, and other appropriate quality tools.Coordinate immediate containment, sorting, rework, and corrective-action activities, ensuring that actions are implemented on time and their effectiveness is verified.Prepare and submit accurate customer responses, technical reports, 8D reports, and supporting evidence in line with customer deadlines and requirements.Monitor customer quality KPIs, complaint trends, quality-related costs, targets, and recurring issues; escalate risks and drive improvement plans where performance is off target.Ensure customer-specific requirements, specifications, drawings, control plans, inspection standards, and approved changes are understood and consistently applied.Participate in customer visits, audits, meetings, and on-site investigations, building constructive relationships and representing Methode professionally.Apply relevant quality methods, including FMEA, PPAP, SPC, MSA, control plans, capability analysis, and Design of Experiments, as applicable to the issue or process.Maintain complete and current quality records, complaint logs, action trackers, inspection results, and customer correspondence in accordance with document-control requirements.Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Supplier Quality teams to implement robust corrective and preventive actions for electrical and mechanical issues.Support product and process changes, launches, and customer approvals by providing required quality documentation and follow-up.Stop production or place shipments on hold when procedures, specifications, safety requirements, or customer requirements are not met, and coordinate disposition and escalation in accordance with company procedures.Comply with all Environmental, Health and Safety requirements and stop work when an unsafe condition is identified until the risk is appropriately controlled.Perform other related duties consistent with the purpose and level of the position.Core Competences:Customer Focus: understands customer expectations, responds with urgency, and builds trusted professional relationships.Problem Solving: applies structured, evidence-based analysis to identify root causes and deliver sustainable corrective actions.Communication and Influence: communicates clearly in English and presents technical findings confidently to internal and external stakeholders.Collaboration: works effectively across functions and follows actions through to closure.Planning and Ownership: prioritizes multiple issues, meets deadlines, maintains accurate records, and escalates risks appropriately.Attention to Detail: interprets technical requirements accurately and maintains disciplined quality documentation.Continuous Improvement: uses data and lessons learned to prevent recurrence and improve quality performance.QualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial, or a related Engineering discipline.Minimum 2 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment; automotive or electronics manufacturing experience is preferred.Practical knowledge of customer complaint handling, corrective action, and structured problem-solving methodologies, including 8D, 5 Whys, and Ishikawa analysis.Working knowledge of core quality tools such as FMEA, PPAP, SPC, MSA, control plans, and process capability analysis.Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, inspection criteria, and customer-specific requirements.Working knowledge of dimensional and visual measuring equipment, such as calipers, comparators, gauges, and optical measurement instruments.Strong written and verbal English communication skills, including the ability to prepare and present technical reports.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.Systematic, methodical, customer-oriented, and able to work effectively in a cross-functional team.Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites when required.
