Required Technical Capability: 1. Good knowledge of utility shop drawings. 2. Good AutoCAD and Civil 3D drafting skills. 3. Good understanding of gravity and pressure networks. 4. Ability to read utility layouts, profiles, sections, and standard details. 5. Good understanding of pipe cover, invert level, gradient, chambers, crossings, and road interface. 6. Good coordination mindset with roads, structures, and other utilities. Software Requirements: 1. AutoCAD, good level and mandatory. 2. Civil 3D, basic level preferred. 3. MS Excel 4. Navisworks or clash review software, preferred. Minimum Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. 2. 4 to 7 years of experience in utility drafting, utility shop drawings, or infrastructure technical o ice work. 3. UAE or GCC infrastructure experience is preferred.
Description
Job Purpose:The Utilities Engineer shall prepare, draft, coordinate, check, and revise utilities shop drawings for UAE infrastructure projects. The engineer shall be able to work independently on assigned utility networks and coordinate with roads, structures, and other disciplines before internal submission. Scope of Work:Stormwater, sewerage, potable water, irrigation, firefighting, electrical ducts, telecom ducts, street lighting, ITS ducts, utility corridors, manholes, chambers, gullies, catch basins, valve chambers, duct banks, crossings, protection details, and NOC coordination drawings. Key Responsibilities: 1. Prepare utilities shop drawings based on IFC drawings, specifications, standard details, authority requirements, and project procedures. 2. Draft and coordinate utility layouts, profiles, long sections, cross sections, chamber details, manhole schedules, setting out drawings, and protection details. 3. Prepare gravity network drawings, including stormwater and sewerage, with correct slopes, invert levels, manhole depths, pipe sizes, cover, and flow direction. 4. Prepare pressure network drawings, including potable water, irrigation, and firefighting, with correct alignment, fittings, valves, chambers, thrust blocks, and protection details. 5. Prepare dry utility drafting support for electrical, telecom, street lighting, ITS, ducts, duct banks, crossings, chambers, and corridors. 6. Check utility levels against road levels, pavement layers, kerbs, gullies, catch basins, chambers, and proposed grading. 7. Coordinate utility crossings with roads, structures, foundations, retaining walls, bridges, underpasses, and existing services. 8. Identify clashes, insu icient cover, wrong invert levels, crossing conflicts, chamber conflicts, and non-constructible details. 9. Prepare drawings for trial trench, protection, diversion, temporary works interface, and utility relocation support when required. 10. Review draftsman output for assigned drawings before submitting to the Senior Utilities Engineer. 11. Prepare technical markups and clear drafting instructions for draftsmen. 12. Revise drawings based on consultant comments, RFI responses, internal comments, site comments, and revised IFC drawings. 13. Support the preparation of RFIs for missing information, utility conflicts, authority requirements, and unclear design details. 14. Prepare utility schedules, manhole schedules, chamber schedules, crossing schedules, and basic quantity take-o .15. Coordinate with road engineers to ensure cover levels, chamber locations, gullies, catch basins, and road crossings match the approved road shop drawings. 16. Coordinate with structural engineers where utilities interface with foundations, retaining walls, culverts, underpasses, sleeves, openings, and embedded items.
