The Camp Boss will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, organized, and comfortable living environment for workers and ensuring that camp rules, company policies, and UAE accommodation requirements are properly followed. The ideal candidate should have good communication and organizational skills, the ability to handle workers professionally, and experience managing labour accommodation or staff housing. Preferred Candidate The ideal candidate should be hands-on, responsible, and approachable, with the ability to maintain discipline while also taking care of workers' welfare. Experience in managing a large labour camp for construction or maintenance workers will be highly preferred. Key Performance Areas The Camp Boss will be evaluated based on: • Cleanliness and hygiene of the camp • Worker satisfaction and welfare • Proper room and occupancy management • Timely resolution of maintenance issues • Compliance with camp rules and safety requirements • Accurate camp records • Effective coordination with management • Proper control of camp supplies and inventory • Maintaining discipline and a peaceful camp environment KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Camp Management • Manage the daily operations of the labour camp and ensure smooth functioning of all facilities. • Maintain proper discipline and enforce company camp rules and regulations. • Monitor the occupancy of rooms and maintain an updated room and bed allocation list. • Maintain accurate records of workers residing in the camp. • Coordinate worker check-in, check-out, room allocation, and transfers. • Conduct regular inspections of rooms, common areas, kitchens, bathrooms, laundry areas, and other facilities. • Report maintenance issues and follow up with the maintenance team until completion. • Ensure all camp facilities are properly maintained and operational. Cleanliness & Hygiene • Ensure high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation throughout the camp. • Supervise cleaners and ensure cleaning schedules are properly followed. • Conduct regular inspections of toilets, bathrooms, kitchens, dining areas, corridors, and common areas. • Ensure proper waste collection and disposal. • Monitor pest-control activities and coordinate with approved service providers when required. • Ensure workers maintain cleanliness and hygiene within their rooms. Worker Welfare & Support • Act as the main point of contact for workers regarding camp-related concerns. • Listen to workers' complaints and resolve issues whenever possible. • Escalate serious or unresolved matters to HR/Admin or management. • Assist workers with accommodation-related requests and concerns. • Maintain a professional, respectful, and fair relationship with all workers. • Help ensure workers have a safe and comfortable living environment. Food & Kitchen Coordination • Monitor the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen and dining areas. • Coordinate with catering staff or food suppliers. • Monitor meal schedules and ensure food is served according to the approved schedule. • Report complaints regarding food quality, quantity, or hygiene to management. • Ensure proper storage and handling of food in coordination with the catering team. Maintenance & Facilities • Report and follow up on issues involving: • Air-conditioning • Water supply • Electricity • Plumbing • Toilets and bathrooms • Kitchen equipment • Washing machines • Lighting • Doors and locks • Fire and safety equipment • Maintain a maintenance complaint/rectification log. • Follow up with maintenance personnel and ensure urgent issues are addressed promptly. Health, Safety & Emergency Management • Ensure camp safety rules are followed by all residents. • Conduct regular checks of emergency exits and ensure they remain accessible. • Ensure fire extinguishers and other safety equipment are available and accessible. • Report safety hazards immediately to management. • Assist during emergencies, evacuations, fire drills, and other safety procedures. • Maintain emergency contact information and ensure workers know the appropriate emergency procedures. Records & Documentation Maintain accurate records, including: • Camp occupancy records • Room/bed allocation records • Worker check-in/check-out records • Maintenance complaints • Cleaning schedules • Pest-control records • Incident reports • Worker complaints • Camp inspection reports • Inventory of camp furniture and equipment • Kitchen/catering records where applicable Inventory & Supplies • Monitor camp supplies such as cleaning materials, toiletries, drinking water, light bulbs, and other essential items. • Maintain proper inventory records. • Submit purchase requests when supplies are running low. • Control the distribution and usage of camp supplies to minimize wastage. Discipline & Security • Ensure workers follow camp rules regarding noise, visitors, smoking, alcohol, cooking, cleanliness, and other applicable regulations. • Monitor unauthorized visitors and report security concerns. • Coordinate with security personnel where applicable. • Record and report incidents, disputes, damages, or violations of camp rules. • Handle worker disputes calmly and professionally and escalate serious matters to management. Coordination with Management • Prepare regular reports regarding camp conditions, occupancy, maintenance, worker concerns, and incidents. • Coordinate closely with HR, Administration, Site Management, Transport, Maintenance, Security, and Catering teams. • Immediately report serious incidents, accidents, conflicts, or safety concerns to management. • Support management in implementing company policies and worker welfare programs. Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS Education • Minimum High School Diploma / Secondary School Certificate. • Diploma or certificate in Hospitality, Facility Management, Administration, or a related field is an advantage. Experience • Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Camp Boss, Camp Supervisor, Labour Camp Supervisor, Accommodation Supervisor, or similar position. • Experience managing labour accommodation, staff accommodation, or workers' camps is preferred. • UAE/GCC experience is an advantage. • Experience in construction, maintenance, manpower supply, or contracting companies is preferred. Skills & Competencies • Good English communication skills. • Ability to communicate effectively with workers from different nationalities. • Good organizational and administrative skills. • Basic computer knowledge, particularly MS Excel and MS Word. • Ability to maintain records and prepare simple reports. • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills. • Good leadership and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple issues simultaneously. • Honest, responsible, disciplined, and approachable. • Physically capable of conducting regular camp inspections.
