Requirements
Requires a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Mechanical QC Inspector. Must have strong knowledge of ASME, API Codes & Standards and static/rotating equipment requirements, with mandatory experience in the Oil & Gas/Petrochemical industry. Experience with major EPC contractors or their subcontractors is preferred.
Description
Responsible for quality inspection of static and rotating mechanical equipment, installation, alignment, preservation and testing activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, manufacturer requirements, ITPs and applicable codes.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct receiving inspection, equipment preservation checks and storage/warehouse surveillance.Verify equipment certification, documentation, manuals and compliance with approved specifications and ITPs.Inspect foundations, equipment installation, erection, mounting, alignment and dimensional checks.Witness bolt torqueing/tensioning, cleaning, flushing, drying, testing and final box-up activities.Supervise QC of rotating equipment alignment, including shaft, centreline and flange alignment within specified tolerances.Inspect static equipment internals, trays, cleanliness and catalyst/filter media filling activities.Verify packaged equipment installation as per manufacturer instructions.Inspect mechanical completion items including grouting, ladders, platforms, handrails and manholes.Coordinate with Civil QC for foundation/pre-pour inspections and equipment releases.Conduct daily surveillance, identify deviations/non-conformances and maintain inspection records.Facilitate client inspections and witness applicable load testing of cranes/hoists and HVAC/mechanical systems.RequirementsRequirementsDiploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.Minimum 10 years experience as a Mechanical QC Inspector.Strong knowledge of ASME, API Codes & Standards and static/rotating equipment requirements.Oil & Gas/Petrochemical industry experience mandatory.Experience with major EPC contractors or their subcontractors preferred.Strong knowledge of mechanical inspection, alignment, installation, testing and QA/QC documentation.
