Description
To research and design technical solutions and produce technical documents based on the tender or contract documents provided by the client ensuring compliance with the applicable standards and requirements.Review geotechnical engineering reports, background information, and past geotechnical dataBecome intimately familiar with reference background information such as geotechnical exploration reports, project specifications and civil/structural plans for use during design and preparation of the design drawings and calculationsAnalyze various ground improvement approaches and select the option that meets the project criteria which typically includes settlement, bearing capacity, global and sliding stability, liquefaction mitigation, and othersDevelop cross sections, generate soil profiles, and select soil properties for use during designPerform finite element modeling using Plaxis, as needed, to understand complex soil-structure interactions and estimate deformations and stresses within the soil and ground improvement elementsPerform other calculations and analyses including, but not limited to, global stability, settlement estimates, bearing capacityCoordinate or prepare design documents (final design calculations and drawings) and confirm adherence to the design criteriaAbility to create MS Excel macros and knowledge of Visual Basic (VBA) coding is a plus
