We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Nephrologist to join a leading healthcare provider in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive nephrology services for patients with acute and chronic kidney diseases, hypertension, electrolyte disorders, and renal replacement therapies while ensuring the highest standards of patient care, safety, and clinical excellence.
Key responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and diagnose patients with acute and chronic kidney diseases.
Manage patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), acute kidney injury (AKI), glomerular diseases, nephrotic syndrome, and inherited renal disorders.
Diagnose and treat hypertension, electrolyte imbalances, acid-base disorders, and fluid management conditions.
Provide inpatient and outpatient nephrology consultations.
Assess, initiate, and manage renal replacement therapies, including hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT).
Evaluate patients for kidney transplantation and provide pre- and post-transplant nephrology care in collaboration with transplant teams.
Perform nephrology-related procedures, including temporary dialysis catheter insertion and kidney biopsy (where credentialed).
Collaborate closely with internal medicine, intensive care, cardiology, endocrinology, urology, vascular surgery, and other multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing medical education (CME).
Supervise and mentor junior physicians, residents, fellows, and allied healthcare professionals.
Ensure compliance with patient safety, infection prevention, and clinical governance standards.

Board certification or equivalent recognized consultant qualification in nephrology.
Minimum 5–10 years of post-specialization experience at the consultant level.
Eligibility for or possession of a Department of Health (DOH) Abu Dhabi Consultant License. Candidates eligible for licensing are also encouraged to apply.
Strong expertise in chronic kidney disease management, dialysis, hypertension, electrolyte disorders, and kidney transplantation.
Excellent communication, leadership, and clinical decision-making skills.
Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered, evidence-based care.
Preferred candidate profile
PQR Tier 1 and Tier 2 qualified professionals will be given preference.
Experience working in internationally accredited hospitals is highly desirable.
Candidates with clinical experience in DOH (Abu Dhabi), DHA (Dubai), or MOHAP (Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, and Umm Al Quwain) licensed healthcare facilities are highly preferred. GCC experience is an added advantage.
Fellowship training in transplant nephrology, interventional nephrology, critical care nephrology, dialysis, or hypertension is an added advantage.
Experience managing dialysis units and multidisciplinary CKD clinics is preferred.
