Requirements
Requires ITI/Diploma/Technical qualification in Electrical Engineering/Electrical Trade and 2-5 years of relevant cable jointing experience with LV/MV cables. Knowledge of XLPE/PVC cables, joints, terminations, glands, connectors, and electrical safety is essential. Utility/power distribution/substation experience is preferred.
Description
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform jointing and termination of LV/MV/HV electrical cables as per project requirements and competency/authorization level.Prepare cables for jointing, including cutting, stripping, insulation preparation and connection.Install cable joints, terminations, glands and associated accessories.Carry out cable laying, dressing and connection activities.Identify and support troubleshooting of cable faults and damaged connections.Assist with cable testing and commissioning activities.Read and follow electrical drawings, cable schedules and technical instructions.Inspect cables, joints and terminations for defects or abnormalities.Carry out repair and replacement of faulty cable sections and accessories.Use cable jointing tools and electrical testing equipment safely.Follow Permit to Work (PTW), LOTO, PPE and electrical safety procedures.Maintain records of cable jointing, testing, repairs and maintenance activities.Coordinate with electricians, technicians, engineers and site supervisors.RequirementsITI/Diploma/Technical qualification in Electrical Engineering/Electrical Trade.2–5 years of relevant cable jointing experience.Hands-on experience with LV/MV cables; HV experience is an advantage where required.Knowledge of XLPE/PVC cables, cable joints, terminations, glands and connectors.Familiarity with electrical testing and fault-identification procedures.Strong understanding of electrical and site safety.Utility/power distribution/substation experience preferred
