Key activities, responsibility & accountability Managing HSE Responsibilities and accountabilities: Perform review of all engineering, construction and testing of safety related systems of ENEC accommodation and facilities in support of the safe construction of the plant and safe maintenance and operation of ENEC accommodation and facilities. Oversee the health and safety management of all Teslam contractors during the execution of their activities within BNPP premises. This includes all relevant services provided by Teslam team to support BNPP operation, facility maintenance, construction and other Enterprise functional events under Teslam scope and responsibility. Ensure compliance to all relevant health, safety and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the section by delivery of the HSE management program to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality service and a responsible environmental attitude by: Work closely with organizational safety teams, operations managers and team leaders in implementing internal safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHAD and ENEC Code of Practices and international best practices. Provide guidance and expert advice to leadership teams on all health & safety policies, practices, procedures and related legislation. Liaise and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and professional associations in health & safety. Perform and review risk assessments covering all ENEC sites to minimize industrial and environmental risks. Perform and review incident investigations covering all ENEC sites to identify root causes of incidents and implement corrective and preventative actions. Participate or lead in the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperate in the preparation of material and evidence for the organization to use when making recommendations to prevent recurrence. Safety and fire protection (fire detection and fire suppression) systems design, operation and preventive maintenance reviews Responsibilities and accountabilities: Oversee the managing, development and implementation of ENEC BNPP accommodation fire safety plan. Monitor the effectiveness and suitability of fire protection systems and ensure they are fully functional. Perform audit and reviews of fire protection system’s preventive maintenance program as per NFPA standards. Verify the integrity of testing, inspection and maintenance of fire detection and alarm systems and ensure that frequency and principles of activities related to the fire protection system are within regulatory and international standards and requirements. Emergency preparedness, response and fire prevention Responsibilities and accountabilities: Lead in the management, maintenance and implementation of BNPP ENEC accommodation emergency evacuation plan. Conduct regular reviews and assessment of BNPP ENEC accommodation emergency arrangements ensuring all required provisions for managing an emergency situation are available, up to date and sufficient. Perform analysis of emergency response team’s performance, their efficiency, training requirements and support in their needs to perform their functions including coordination with the onsite fire fighting and medical teams. Implement a system for fire safety and hazardous materials inspections of all facilities including maintenance of floor evacuation plans, development of corrective actions and initiating enforcement of required action. Quality assurance Responsibilities and accountabilities: Oversee the activities of Teslam HSE team and provide clear direction, information and support to team members to enable them fully understand their roles and functions. Support and participate with HSE compliance team in the conduct of HSE management system audits and performance reviews. Lead in the development and establishment of HSE related procedures, code of practice and plans that will support and upgrade the Teslam operational processes as required. Supervise Teslam HSE team members in performing technical reviews and updating of HSE deliverable documents including managing of records and reports. Analyze Teslam HSE team competency level ensuring all training requirements are met and initiate as required to provide the needs to support individual team member’s personal development. Manage the effective achievement of organization’s objectives by setting individual targets, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal to maximize subordinate and department performance. Contribute to the development of UAE national employees in a manner which supports the objectives of the corporation and its Emiratization strategy. Contribute to knowledge dissemination and sharing in a way that assists with building internal capabilities of UAE nationals where applicable and maximize their effective performance. Professional certifications Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST) NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
