Description
These opportunities are exclusively for doctors currently based in the USA and Europe who are looking to relocate to the UAE.
The Consultant – Maternal & Fetal Medicine is responsible for providing comprehensive, evidence-based care for women with high-risk pregnancies and fetal conditions. The Consultant leads the diagnosis, treatment, and management of complex maternal and fetal disorders, performs advanced fetal imaging and prenatal diagnostic procedures, and works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal maternal and neonatal outcomes in compliance with UAE healthcare regulations and international clinical standards.
Responsibilities include:
Provide specialist consultation and management for high-risk pregnancies.
Diagnose and manage maternal medical disorders complicating pregnancy.
Perform and interpret advanced obstetric ultrasound examinations, including:
First trimester screening
Nuchal translucency scans
Fetal anomaly scans
Growth scans
Doppler studies
Cervical length assessment
Fetal well-being assessments
Diagnose fetal abnormalities and congenital anomalies.
Counsel patients regarding fetal abnormalities, genetic disorders, and pregnancy management options.
Develop individualized antenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum management plans.
Perform prenatal diagnostic procedures including:
Amniocentesis
Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS)
Fetal blood sampling (where applicable)
Monitor and manage multiple pregnancies and fetal growth restriction.
Manage pregnancies complicated by:
Hypertension
Diabetes
Autoimmune disorders
Cardiac disease
Renal disease
Infectious diseases
Previous obstetric complications
Collaborate with neonatology, genetics, pediatric surgery, anesthesia, radiology, and other specialties for multidisciplinary patient care.
Participate in labour ward coverage and emergency obstetric consultations.
Participate in consultant on-call rotation.
Requirements
Extensive experience in managing high-risk obstetrics.
Demonstrated expertise in advanced fetal ultrasound and prenatal diagnosis.
Experience in multidisciplinary tertiary care settings preferred.
Full-time Consultant position.
Participation in on-call, weekends, and public holiday coverage as per hospital policy.
Practice in outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, labour and delivery units, fetal medicine units, and operating theatres where applicable.
