New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Senior Manager, Community Values and Student Conduct reporting to Senior Dean of Students, NYUAD. The Senior Manager of Community Values and Student Conduct supports NYUAD's efforts to enhance students' conflict fluency and ethics awareness through educational programming, stakeholder collaboration, and community engagement. Through the work of this position, students will benefit from a campus environment that promotes healthy conflict management, mutual respect, and a strong sense of belonging. This position is responsible for managing and implementing Community Values and Conflict Transformation initiatives that contribute to student learning and development. Working through educational training, proactive outreach, and collaborative engagement, the Senior Manager partners with campus stakeholders to foster a multicultural learning environment that supports students in developing resilience, interpersonal competence, and skills for success in diverse professional and global contexts. Job responsibilities: Manage the day-to-day operations of the Community Values and Student Conduct Office in alignment with the mission and priorities of the Office of Student Experience and the University Support the implementation of departmental goals and strategic priorities, including developing operational plans, processes, and assessment measures to enhance service delivery and program effectiveness Respond promptly to reports of non-academic student misconduct from across the University community and adjudicate complex cases involving individual students, residential students, and student organizations Collaborate with campus stakeholders to ensure consistent application of community standards and effective case management practices Strengthen and manage the formal student conduct process at NYUAD, including the development, implementation, and revision of conduct procedures for individual students and student organizations Manage communications, inquiries, administrative requests, student conduct checks, and alternative resolution processes related to community standards and student behavior Process, investigate, and adjudicate individual student conduct cases in a timely, equitable, and educational manner Partner closely with the Residential Life team to strengthen residential conduct policies, violation rubrics, adjudication procedures, and hearing processes to ensure consistency, accountability, and alignment with University community standards and student development practices Work closely with counterparts across the NYU global network, including the New York campus, and stakeholders across NYUAD to support the review and implementation of student conduct policies and community standards in alignment with institutional priorities and established best practices Develop and facilitate in-person and online training programs for students, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders related to student conduct processes, community values, conflict management, and behavioral expectations Manage the delivery of educational sanction programs, workshops, and intervention initiatives designed to promote awareness of community values, accountability, respectful engagement, and student wellbeing Coordinate and enhance student development programming across the student experience lifecycle, from Marhaba through graduation, with a focus on ethical decision-making, conflict resolution, community responsibility, and behaviors that contribute to student success and positive community engagement Data management and execute additional duties, special projects, and strategic initiatives as assigned by the Senior Dean of Students Office Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the student case management platform, Advocate, and utilize data analytics and reporting to identify trends, support case management practices, inform decision-making, and develop targeted training and prevention programs that benefit the University community (annual conduct reports, assessment metrics, policy effectiveness review, trend reporting) Serve as an active member of various University and Student Affairs committees and initiatives, including SLATE and the Dean on Call program, while supporting crisis response, student support efforts, and cross-functional collaboration across the institution The Senior Manager of Community Values and Student Conduct will liaise with NYU’s Title IX Office to support students with questions related to Title IX regulations, sexual misconduct policies, reporting processes, supportive measures, and University procedures Ensure students are connected to appropriate resources and supported through institutional processes in alignment with University policies and community standards The Senior Manager will also serve as an active contributor to University and Student Affairs Division-wide initiatives and programs, including admissions events, Marhaba and new student orientation, student leadership development and trainings, athletic and residential education programs, and other community engagement initiatives This role may require regular evening and weekend commitments throughout the academic year to support student programs, crisis response, and community needs Required education: Master's degree in higher education, conflict resolution, student affairs, counseling, social work, or related fields Required experience: 5+ years working in higher education or related experience Experience in student conduct and case management Experience developing and delivering experiential training to build capacity in conflict transformation and conduct management Extensive experience in working with students and other youth populations is required The role requires an individual to have a broad understanding of University policy and procedures and the flexibility to apply these appropriately to the wide range of situations faced by our student population The role requires the post holder to have autonomy to be able to make decisions regarding discipline and community complaint matters, using judgement and experience of when to refer to their manager or other support departments Must have a proficient knowledge and understanding of student due process and FERPA Excellent interpersonal skills, necessary for cultivating relationships and trust with students and colleagues A capacity to work collegially and collaboratively in a university environment Demonstrated skills for managing conflict An ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects on tight deadlines, organized work habits, consistent accuracy, and attentiveness to detail Excellent presentation, written and oral communication skills in English Collaborative spirit and ability to build partnerships/relationships with many people to achieve their goals Ability and willingness to work some evening/weekend hours Preferred education: Doctoral degree in higher education, student development, conflict resolution, or a field relevant to the work of student affairs Certifications and trainings related to working with at-risk students, mental health support, trauma-informed counselling, sexual misconduct and Title IX expertise and training curricula design and implementation Professional certifications in knowledge and skill set relevant to student conduct and conflict education (e.g., restorative justice, mediation, adjudication, etc.) Experience in student conduct in a higher education setting Preferred experience: Self-sufficiency
