Requirements
Essential (Must-Have)Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.Active membership of the Kuwait Society of Engineers (KSE), or eligibility to register within a defined timeframe.Minimum 5 years’ experience in civil engineering, with a focus on real estate development or construction projects in Kuwait or the GCC.Strong working knowledge of Kuwait’s building regulations, the Kuwait Engineering Code, Municipality approvals, and construction safety standards.Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS software.Demonstrated experience in site planning, infrastructure design, drainage, and construction supervision.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to technical detail.Bilingual fluency in English and Arabic (written and spoken) — essential for liaising with authorities, consultants, and contractors.Valid Kuwait driving license and transferable Article 18 residency visa.Preferred (Nice-to-Have)Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.Working knowledge of Revit, BIM workflows, and clash detection tools.Experience with sustainable construction practices and green building certifications (e.g. LEED, ESTIDAMA).Familiarity with the real estate market in Kuwait and the wider GCC.Established network of contacts within Kuwait’s consultant, contractor, and government engineering community.

Job Title: Civil Engineer – KWT (Bilingual)Job Code: Civil Engineer – KWT (Bilingual)Company: Zaleej Real Estate Company (KSCC)Department: Project ManagementReports To: CEOABOUT US Zaleej Real Estate Company (KSCC) is the Kuwait real estate company that manages a diversified portfolio of commercial and residential properties across Kuwait, combining institutional-grade asset management with hands-on operational excellence.ROLE OVERVIEW The Civil Engineer provides the technical engineering backbone for Zaleej’s development projects, covering site investigation, infrastructure design, construction drawings, and on-site technical supervision across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments in Kuwait. Working alongside the Project Manager, the role owns the engineering quality and code compliance of each project — from soil reports and site plans through to as-built documentation. Success in this role is measured by design quality, regulatory compliance, technical issue resolution speed, and the seamless coordination of consultants, contractors, and authorities. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Site Investigation & DesignConduct comprehensive site investigations, analysing topographical surveys, soil conditions, and environmental factors to determine site suitability for development.Design site infrastructure including roads, utilities, drainage systems, retaining structures, and site grading.Develop detailed site plans that optimise land use while ensuring compliance with Kuwait Municipality zoning regulations and the Kuwait Engineering Code.Drawings & Technical DocumentationPrepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documents to professional standards.Review and approve contractor shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.Maintain accurate as-built drawings and technical project records throughout the construction lifecycle.Construction Technical OversightProvide on-site technical supervision to ensure construction works conform to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.Conduct regular site inspections and resolve technical issues, design clarifications, and RFIs raised by contractors and consultants.Identify and mitigate technical risks during construction, recommending value engineering opportunities where appropriate.Regulatory Compliance & PermittingEnsure all projects comply with Kuwait Municipality regulations, the Kuwait Engineering Code, and applicable national environmental, fire, and safety standards (EPA, MPW, Civil Defence).Prepare and submit permit applications, engineering drawings, and technical reports to relevant Kuwait authorities.Liaise with Municipality, MPW, EPA, Civil Defence, and utility providers (MEW) to secure required approvals.Coordination & Technical SupportCoordinate closely with architects, MEP engineers, structural consultants, quantity surveyors, and surveyors to integrate disciplines and resolve technical clashes.Support the Project Manager with engineering inputs to cost estimates, scheduling, and risk assessments.Provide technical expertise to internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve construction-related challenges.
