Description
Job description / Role Job Type Full Time Job Location Dubai, UAE Nationality Any Nationality Salary Not Specified Gender Not Specified Arabic Fluency Not Specified Job Function Accounting & Audit Company Industry IT, Software & Internet Services About the company & role We are a deep-tech intelligence holding company with multiple business units and acquisitions scaling in parallel. As the business expands, we are hiring two junior cost and accounting engineers to help design, build, and govern the cost frameworks that support our growth. This title is intentional. These are not traditional accounting or finance reporting roles. We are looking for individuals who can approach cost management as an engineering discipline - structuring how costs are captured, allocated, analysed, and controlled across the business. One role will be embedded within the technology function, while the other will sit within the commercial function. As the group continues to grow through new business units and acquisitions, there will also be future opportunities to support acquisition-related cost structures. Cost governance and allocation frameworks Cost management is not the same as accounting or financial reporting. While accounting explains what has already happened, this role is focused on designing and governing how costs are structured, allocated, tracked, and controlled across the business. We are looking for someone who understands cost management as a discipline in its own right — someone who can go beyond running reports and instead build clear cost allocation methodologies, track costs at project and function level, and provide leadership with early visibility before issues become problems. This role is not for someone who simply reports numbers after the fact. It is for someone who can understand how costs move through a business, create the right frameworks to manage them, and help leadership make better decisions based on structured, accurate, and forward-looking cost visibility. What you will do Build cost allocation frameworks within their embedded function from scratch. Manage overhead allocations from HQ across business units. Track project-wise cost allocations - direct and indirect costs. Produce accurate, timely budget reports for their service line without being chased. Identify where costs are miscoded, duplicated, or untracked and fix it. Give leadership cost visibility in real time, not retrospectively. One role will eventually move into acquisitions integration. Requirements What are we looking for CMA qualification or active study toward it — this is the primary signal on a CV. Has worked in a tech company, portfolio company, or multi-entity group environment. Has built cost models and allocation frameworks from scratch - not just inherited and maintained them. Understands direct and indirect cost allocation, overhead allocation from HQ, and project-wise cost tracking. Junior or seniority level is not the requirement, genuine technical depth is. What kind of person are we looking for Technically rigorous - knows this discipline deeply, not generically. Proactive - if data is not there, goes and finds it, does not wait. Can work embedded inside a non-finance function alongside people who do not speak finance. Thinks beyond the report - translates numbers into decisions and flags problems early. Role scope clarification This is not a general accounting, financial control, or month-end reporting role. While accounting knowledge is valuable, the focus of this position is not limited to producing management accounts, closing reports, or summarizing historical financial performance. This role is designed for someone who can actively structure, govern, and improve cost visibility across projects, functions, and business units. Candidates whose experience is primarily limited to running reports or preparing standard accounting outputs may not be aligned with the core purpose of this role. Apply Now
