About the role
A leading healthcare provider in the UAE is seeking a highly skilled consultant cardiac surgeon to join its growing clinical team. The role focuses on adult cardiac surgery, coronary and valve surgery, aortic procedures, and advanced perioperative cardiac care.
The successful candidate will work within a modern, multidisciplinary clinical environment supported by experienced consultants, cardiac nurses, allied health professionals, advanced diagnostic facilities, cardiac operating theatres, intensive care, and rehabilitation services.
Role overview
The consultant cardiac surgeon will provide specialist assessment, surgical management, perioperative care, and follow-up for patients requiring adult cardiac surgical intervention, working closely with cardiology, cardiac anaesthesia, perfusion, intensive care, and rehabilitation teams.
Key responsibilities
Evaluate and manage patients requiring adult cardiac surgical intervention.
Perform coronary artery bypass surgery, valve surgery, aortic procedures, and other cardiac surgical procedures according to expertise and facility privileges.
Assess patients pre-operatively and develop appropriate surgical treatment plans.
Lead perioperative planning in collaboration with cardiology, cardiac anaesthesia, perfusion, ICU, and rehabilitation teams.
Participate in heart team meetings, multidisciplinary case discussions, risk assessment, informed consent, and outcome review.
Manage postoperative recovery, complications, follow-up, and long-term care coordination.
Monitor surgical outcomes and contribute to continuous improvement of cardiac surgical services.
Support infection control, surgical registry, clinical audit, quality improvement, and patient safety programmes.
Maintain accurate clinical and surgical documentation in accordance with UAE healthcare standards.
Provide clear communication and counselling to patients and families regarding surgical options, risks, benefits, and expected outcomes.
