Overview of the role
The Assistant General Manager Finance is responsible for leading Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Strategic Business Partnering across the Corporate Business Function. This role provides financial planning, forecasting, performance insights, and decision support to align business outcomes with Al-Futtaim Group objectives.
The individual partners closely with group and corporate leadership to translate strategic priorities into actionable recommendations. With oversight of management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and compliance, this position ensures the effective financial management of corporate divisions, schools, and the education foundation across the UAE and MENA region.
Key responsibilities include performance monitoring, cost management, embedding AI and digital transformation, and leading a high-performance finance team.
What you will do
Strategic Business Partnering
Act as a financial advisor to Group Headquarters leadership, supporting strategic planning, investment decisions, and business improvement initiatives.
Guide stakeholders on finance processes, Delegation of Authority (DoA), policies, and ensuring smooth operations.
Financial Oversight & Management Reporting
Ensure accurate and timely reporting for Corporate Division & Schools/AFEF in line with Group Policies.
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Lead the budgeting process for the Corporate Division.
Provide forecasts, variance analyses, and financial planning support to inform strategic decisions.
Lead bi-weekly cash flow planning to ensure sufficient liquidity within approved funding limits.
Performance Monitoring
Track and analyze financial performance against KPIs, identifying opportunities for cost savings or recoveries improvement.
Internal Controls & Compliance
Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets.
Ensure compliance with corporate policies and external regulations.
Project & Systems
Partner with group functions in various projects as steering committee and working group member.
Review and approve Business Cases, AFE, IANS raised by central functions.
Focus on embedding AI into work to improve productivity.
People
Lead and motivate a team of 10.
Foster team member growth and development.
Ensure alignment with group values, focusing on integrity and collaboration.
