Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of MEP design, installation, testing, and commissioning.

  • Good understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, fire alarm, ELV, and BMS systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings, schematics, specifications, BOQs, and technical documentation.

  • Strong multidisciplinary coordination and clash-resolution skills.

  • Knowledge of BIM coordination and MEP design coordination processes.

  • Good understanding of UAE authority requirements and MEP standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, MEP Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • 8–12 years of relevant MEP engineering experience, preferably in large-scale building, infrastructure, commercial, residential, hospitality, industrial, or EPC projects.

  • Strong experience in MEP installation, coordination, testing, and commissioning.

  • Experience managing MEP subcontractors, consultants, vendors, and multidisciplinary project teams.

  • UAE/GCC experience is highly preferred.

  • Experience working on projects in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and familiarity with local authority requirements will be an advantage.

  • Professional engineering certification or relevant MEP certification will be an added advantage.

Description
Supervise and coordinate MEP engineering and installation activities throughout the project lifecycle.Review project specifications, drawings, BOQs, contract documents, and technical requirements to ensure compliance with project objectives.Coordinate mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, fire alarm, ELV, BMS, and other MEP systems.Review MEP shop drawings, design calculations, material submittals, method statements, and technical submissions.Ensure MEP installations are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and applicable standards.Coordinate with civil, structural, architectural, BIM, and other engineering teams to resolve design interfaces and avoid clashes.Participate in design coordination and constructability reviews and identify potential issues before site execution.Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams on technical and engineering matters.Monitor site installation activities and verify that works are progressing according to approved schedules and project requirements.Inspect MEP installations and ensure proper workmanship, equipment installation, routing, supports, access, and clearances.Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspections, testing, documentation, and closure of NCRs and site observations.Review technical queries, RFIs, design changes, and site issues and coordinate timely resolution.Coordinate procurement and technical evaluation of MEP equipment and materials.Review vendor drawings, technical data sheets, equipment schedules, and compliance documentation.Monitor material availability and ensure MEP materials and equipment are delivered in line with construction requirements.Coordinate testing and commissioning activities for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, fire alarm, ELV, BMS, and associated systems.Review testing and commissioning procedures, test reports, balancing reports, and performance results.Coordinate with relevant UAE authorities and utility providers for inspections, approvals, testing, and connections where applicable.Ensure MEP works comply with relevant UAE codes, authority requirements, project specifications, and international standards.Monitor project progress and provide regular updates on MEP activities, technical issues, risks, and required actions.Assist the Project Manager in planning manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractor requirements.Support preparation and review of MEP progress reports, schedules, technical reports, and project documentation.Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with approved designs, quality standards, HSE requirements, and project schedules.Ensure proper implementation of HSE requirements, risk assessments, permit-to-work procedures, and safe working practices.Participate in snagging, rectification, final inspections, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.Review and ensure completion of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranties, test certificates, and other handover documents.Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers, supervisors, and site teams.Identify opportunities for value engineering, energy efficiency, cost optimization, and improved construction methods.Maintain accurate engineering records and ensure proper document control throughout the project.
