Requirements
Requires a degree in engineering (preferably mechanical) or a comparable technical background, with 5-8 years of relevant industry experience. Must have strong knowledge of the Shell lubricants portfolio, customer-facing experience, and the ability to provide technical advice, troubleshoot issues, and manage customer relationships. Knowledge in vibration, ultrasound, or thermography inspections is beneficial.

You'll have limitless opportunities to explore – whether that means building up new areas of expertise or taking in a different direction.As Lubricants Technical Advisor, you will be expected to provide first line technical advice to direct accounts, industrial and indirect customers, and Shell Sales force on the use of the Shell lubricants portfolio in order to best exploit the technical attributes of Shell products and services to commercial advantage, and to trouble shoot any technical issues.What's the roleIn your role as the Lubricants Technical Advisor (LTA) you will use your techno-commercial skills to provide support on highly complex technical issues to key accounts for business retention, securing close top partnership with key customers and prospects at high level as well as with their key stakeholders through differentiating offers and solutions:Provide front line technical support to direct top customers and prospects (Platinum, global priority OEM) and sales staff including problem solving, troubleshooting and application advice for approximately. 95% of all front-line technical issuesSecure close good relationship with key customers and prospects at high level as well as with their key stakeholders, enhancing the use of the Shell lubricants portfolio to best exploit the technical attributes of Shell products and services to commercial advantage and to trouble shoot any technical issuesManage any complex complaint or issue coming from key customers (Platinum, global priority OEM) providing satisfying customer solution and clear constructive feedback internally as good learning caseThanks to own high technical, overall sector product/application/process expertise, be able to deliver valuable input and Shell product and services selection to key customers, to improve sensitively their production process, increasing Shell Technology image and business opportunityProvide HSSE, Occupational Health, safety and product disposal advice to key customers and front-line sales, in line with local legislation requirements. Actively keep up to date with changes in legislationYou also will drive top and bottom-line growth through deep involvement in key account prospecting and cross/up selling activities with a premium acceleration focus providing the right claims and reasons to believe:Work closely with local sales and global accounts who have the ownership of the customers, to provide appropriate technical support to maintain and gain business in line with business strategy.Carry out joint and solo visits (with knowledge of sales force) to new and existing customers providing technical proposals/assistance to generate sales opportunities, with both existing and new productsDrive x/up-sales opportunities through developing and delivering appropriate lubricants training to direct Sales/Marketing staff to develop their expertise, as well as tailored training packages for Gold/Platinum Customers where requiredDevelop and deliver appropriate lubricants training to direct Shell Sales staff to develop their product-application-services expertiseExploiting the use of Sales First tools through integrated T-SPANCOP with Sales one and delivering DVRs according to global needs and guidelines to provide proven Technology Leadership or Value Led examplesYou will be part of the services monetization journey by introducing and growing our technical services as a new revenue stream through our current active CVP`s in addition to creating new ones to expand our services portfolioWhat We Need From YouDegree (e.g. BEng) –engineering, preferably mechanical, or comparable technical background skillsProven 5-8 years working experience in relevant industriesGood Sector and application technical knowledge to be able to understand customer`s critical needs Evidence for good commercial acumen, Experience in a customer facing role (eg front line sales) is beneficial.Knowledge in Vibration, Ultrasound and/or thermography inspections will be considered.Self-committing, balancing own learning from others internally and giving technical support externallyHaving the ability to distil complex information and to communicate clearly and concisely to othersManaging relationships with key customers and their stakeholdersDelivers results – accountability.
