Requirements
  • Strong expertise in both primary and secondary engineering for substation projects.
  • Thorough understanding of GIS and AIS substations up to 765 kV.
  • Proficiency in selection of equipment such as power transformers, reactors, circuit breakers, disconnectors, and instrument transformers.
  • Knowledge in substation primary design including earthing, lighting, lightning protection, and cabling.
  • Familiarity with interfaces between civil, MEP, and instrumentation disciplines.
  • Knowledge of secondary engineering activities such as schemes, wiring diagrams, SCADA, and control systems.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and MS Office.
  • Desirable knowledge of ETAP, PSCAD, and CYMGRD.
  • Familiarity with project planning tools.

Description
Lead and coordinate all engineering activities for substation projects to ensure timely delivery within approved quality, cost, and schedule parameters.Lead strong leadership across primary and secondary engineering, multidisciplinary coordination, vendor management, and support to project execution teams.Coordinate with the Project Planning Manager to ensure engineering deliverables align with the project schedule.Conduct regular project review meetings and ensure adherence to timelines.Conduct internal review meetings to improve resource optimization, work allocation, and productivity.Review designs, calculations, and drawings to ensure timely submission and customer approval.Resolve vendor-related issues and ensure timely delivery of materials to the project site.Manage multiple priorities effectively and deliver against deadlines.Clarify design-related issues with inter-discipline managers across civil, structural, MEP, and instrumentation functions.Enable and review accurate quantity estimation for preparation and submission of the Bill of Materials.Review critical design issues and procedural delays, and support site execution teams accordingly.Ensure BIM implementation across projects.Support procurement and supply chain teams in finalizing orders for vendor engineering.Assist with BOQ preparation, pre-bid offer reviews, technical submissions, and post-tender clarifications.Lead and manage Design Leads, Design Engineers, and Draughtsmen.Review vendor evaluations against client technical specifications.Support site execution teams on commercial issues and bill processing.Ensure issuance of Manufacturing Clearance through effective coordination with suppliers.Communicate client deliverable requirements and assess project resource needs.Interpret contractual technical requirements and support project teams.Interview and evaluate engineering talent.Project execution across different geographies, clients, and utilities.
