The opportunity
Queen Elizabeth’s School, Dubai Sports City is looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and proactive PE Technician to join our high-performing academic and sports team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for sport and physical education to play a key role in supporting the delivery of outstanding PE lessons, sporting activities, fixtures, and enrichment opportunities across the school.
The successful candidate will help ensure that our PE facilities and equipment are maintained to the highest standards and are safe, accessible, and ready for use. You will work closely with PE teachers to support practical lessons, prepare equipment and facilities, and contribute to an engaging and positive sporting environment for our students.

The role
Job title: PE Technician
Reporting to: Head of PE / Deputy Head (Academics)
PE lesson & curriculum support
Support PE teachers in the preparation and delivery of practical lessons and activities.
Prepare, set up, and safely store sports equipment and resources before and after lessons.
Assist teachers during practical activities, where appropriate, to ensure lessons run efficiently and effectively.
Support the organisation of activities for students of different ages and abilities.
Assist with demonstrations and practical activities where appropriate and within the requirements of the role.
Help ensure that students have access to the appropriate equipment and resources to participate fully in PE activities.
Support the PE department in creating an engaging, inclusive, and positive sporting environment.
Sports equipment & facilities
Maintain, organise, and monitor all PE and sports equipment to ensure it is safe, clean, secure, and fit for purpose.
Conduct regular checks of sports equipment and report any damage, defects, or safety concerns promptly.
Ensure equipment is stored appropriately and efficiently to maximise accessibility and maintain a safe working environment.
Prepare indoor and outdoor sports facilities for lessons, fixtures, clubs, and events.
Assist with the set-up and clear-down of sports areas and facilities.
Maintain accurate inventories of PE equipment and identify requirements for replacement or replenishment.
Support the PE department with the ordering and receipt of equipment and resources where required.
Fixtures & enrichment
Support the organisation and delivery of inter-school fixtures, tournaments, sports days, and other sporting events.
Assist with the preparation of facilities and equipment for school teams and extracurricular activities.
Support PE staff with the organisation of sports clubs and enrichment activities.
Help ensure that equipment and facilities are ready for visiting teams and external sporting events.
Contribute positively to a strong sporting culture across the school.
Health, safety & risk management
Ensure sports equipment and facilities are used safely and appropriately.
Carry out routine safety checks and report hazards, damage, or maintenance requirements promptly.
Follow school procedures relating to health and safety, risk assessment, safeguarding, and the safe use of sports equipment.
Ensure appropriate equipment is available to support safe participation in practical activities.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and safety across PE storage areas and facilities.
Support PE staff in implementing appropriate risk controls during lessons, fixtures, and events.
Student engagement & support
Build positive and professional relationships with students and act as a positive role model.
Encourage students to participate enthusiastically and confidently in physical activity.
Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, resilience, and respect through involvement in sporting activities.
Support an inclusive environment where students of different abilities and sporting interests can participate and thrive.
Assist with student-led sporting initiatives and enrichment opportunities where appropriate.
Collaboration & professional development
Work closely with the PE department and wider school staff to support the effective delivery of the school’s sporting provision.
Communicate effectively with teachers and other colleagues regarding equipment, facilities, student needs, and safety concerns.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of PE facilities, resources, and sporting opportunities.
Keep up to date with relevant health and safety requirements and best practice relating to sports equipment and facilities.
Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities.
Compliance & safeguarding
Ensure all activities comply with KHDA standards, MOE guidelines, and school policies.
Maintain high standards of safeguarding and child protection at all times.
Promote a safe, inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment for all students.
Follow the school’s policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, health and safety, behaviour, and professional conduct.
Report any safeguarding concerns or concerns regarding student safety promptly and appropriately.
The person
Qualifications and experience
Relevant qualification or experience in Sport, Physical Education, Sports Coaching, Sports Management, or a related field is desirable.
Minimum UK A-Level equivalent qualification.
Previous experience working within a school, sports centre, sports club, or similar environment is desirable.
A strong knowledge and understanding of a range of sports and physical activities.
Experience supporting PE lessons, sports clubs, fixtures, or sporting events is desirable.
Practical experience in the safe use, maintenance, and storage of sports equipment.
Good understanding of health and safety requirements within a sporting environment.
First Aid qualification is desirable.
Ability to work effectively with children and young people of different ages and abilities.
