The Superintendent – EIT requires extensive experience in electrical, instrumentation, and telecom site construction, preferably with an international oil and gas EPC company or subcontractors. Experience in CIS/FSU, Middle East, or North Africa, and working with a diverse international workforce is essential. Strong communication skills and knowledge of relevant industry standards (NEC, NFPA, IEEE, NEMA, IEC) and safety procedures (PTW, LOTO, arc flash) are also required.

Key Responsibilities The Superintendent – EIT will work with the subcontractors' supervision, directing activities to project priorities, ensuring that required support is available, and monitoring labour and equipment levels for efficiency. Work to a 90-day look ahead schedule and provide leadership and guidance to site-based construction supervision (multi-discipline) and construction contractors. Assist subcontractors in finding the best method to execute the works. Monitor daily construction details and daily progress in the area (PPC). Understand Petrofac scope of work, and the detailed scopes for each subcontractor, together with an appreciation of the contract type, e.g. reimbursable, unit rates etc. On reimbursable contracts, verify that all subcontractor personnel and equipment are being used efficiently and sign off on daily timesheets verifying this. Be contractually aware, identifying changes in project scope and formally notifying the Subcontracts Manager before implementation. Support Construction Manager / Engineer in finalizing technical decisions (red line markups). Take ownership of safety; review subcontractor HSSE plans and instigate required changes. Oversee and conduct toolbox talks before commencement of work, briefing about the risks involved and the mitigation measures to be taken. Inspect the jobsite daily to confirm that housekeeping standards are met and take immediate action if standards are not being met. Encourage the subcontractor and subordinates to report all near misses, unsafe acts, etc. Verify ITPs and QCPs are in place before commencement of work and ensure that the work is correctly executed the first time. Understand project quality requirements and monitor subcontractors' trade personnel to identify skill shortages and training requirements. Ensure quality control inspection on material received and report any damaged or missing material. Ensure adequate storage and preservation of equipment and bulk materials before and after installation. Attend pre-walkdowns and walkdowns for MC verifying the work scope is completed as per drawings to reduce the punch list. Resolve technical queries (TQs) and non-compliance reports (NCR) issued to subcontractors. Ensure installation of equipment to a high standard, ensuring the job task is performed right the first time following the Quality in Construction approach. Actively participate in quality control inspection of EIT works in line with approved ITPs. Coordinate with field engineering to obtain client approvals related to construction. Be knowledgeable in all facets of construction and field engineering methods and techniques. Review and approve all construction method statements submitted by subcontractors, ensuring industry best practices are used and new applicable standards are implemented. Attend subcontract and cost awareness sessions and understand the responsibility matrices, BOQ, and preambles of subcontract. Review responsibility matrix and ensure subcontractor is complying within the contract. Review any work scope that has been missed within the subcontract with subcontractors and notify management. Lead the four-week schedule review meetings (weekly) and review the weekly work plans to support the overall schedule and commodity curves. Submit daily and weekly reports that identify work in progress and completed. Identify all work that is falling behind schedule, propose remedial action, and re-forecast completion dates. Understand the systems turnover plan and sequence and support the discipline subcontractors to construct to that sequence. Manage vendors to ensure they are at site for a minimum period, plan mobilisation to coordinate with construction installation. Ensure to meet the requirements and all pre-requisites before mobilizing vendors onsite. Accountable to sign off vendor timesheets and maintain vendor mobilisation tracker identifying vendor costs and forecasts to Construction Manager / Subcontracts Manager. Share technical knowledge with subcontractors and Petrofac staff. Provide training and development of nationals, which involves shadowing, mentoring, or on-the-job training for certain designated positions and supervising junior engineers while job training is ongoing. Define clear roles and responsibilities for subordinates. Provide clear and honest feedback to construction supervision on their performance and provide coaching and mentoring to enhance their skills. Assist in closing all punches and assist in commissioning plan. Coordinate closely with client and ensure all concerns are tackled. Ensure quantity reporting is established and reported accurately. Input site construction feedback in Construction Observation Form. Verify that personnel engaged in critical activities have passed the Verification of Competency or third-party assessment. Provide training onsite if nominated by Construction Manager. Be trained in lifting and scaffolding supervision (if required). Be able to read, understand, communicate, explain, and educate the site team concerning related approved drawings and documents including single line diagrams, cable and drum schedules, routing index, area classification drawings, schematic/elementary drawings, EIT layouts, hook-up drawings, plan drawings, wiring diagrams, civil composite layout, equipment vendor GA drawing, underground drawings. Oversee all the below activities with respect to vendors’ manuals, project specifications, EIT procedures, and approved drawings: Cables glanding and termination. Installation of lighting system (junction boxes, lighting distribution boards, lighting poles, lighting fixtures). Installation of electrical power and control cables (cable pulling procedure, testing, megger, continuity, hi-pot test, cable pull card control, etc.). Installation of cable trays, ladder and conduit system. Implement and follow cable trenches procedure. Installation of electrical heat tracing. Installation of motors, generators, transformers, batteries, chargers and UPS, switchgears, motor control centres and bus duct. Installation of neutral earthing resistor, small power distribution system, installation of cathodic protection system, earthing and lightning protection system. Instrument calibration. Installation of instrument cables, fibre optic cables. Installation of field mounted instruments, control panels, junction boxes, marshalling cabinets, consoles, and desks. Installation of fire and gas detection system, communication system. Instrument loop release and loop checks. Ensure preservation procedure is in place, followed and implemented by site team. Essential Qualifications and Skills Maximum years of experience in electrical, instrumentation and telecom site experience in direct hire construction with an international oil and gas EPC company and with subcontractors. Experience working in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS/FSU), Middle East, and/or North Africa. Prior experience working with a diverse international workforce. Good communication skills. Experienced person whose training has included instructions on various types of EIT protection and installation practices. General knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, NEMA, IEC. Knowledge and experience to solve electrical, instrumentation and telecom issues onsite and provide guidance to subcontractors. Trained in PTW, LOTO and arc flash.
